What are your thoughts on the MyLot payment change?

When I came home from this morning's activities, I wrote a few comments and then went to check my MyLot balance. I was alarmed to see some text in red (was it going to say I've been banned from the site for illegal snow pea planting or posting about hairy tushies?). But it was just something parenthetical about payout occurring if you reach only $1 for the next two months. I searched around and found the following post from Alex (see bottom--not a hairy tush--I mean the bottom of this post). What do you think about it all? Will it be motivating for those who don't have the time to earn $10 a month? Will it make some of us (those who usually scramble to make $10/month) lazy? My honest thought is that it won't affect my behavior at all. I write one or two posts a day, depending on how much time I have and what mood my fickle muse is in. I comment when I'm relaxing, either between clients during the day, or in the evening with a glass of wine. They're trying it for two months as a sort of "experiment." Then they'll decide whether to make it (or some other compromise) permanent. Will it affect your behavior? What would be your ideal payment system?
As you know, there have been a number of changes here since the reintroduction of the revenue sharing program. We have been striving to make things as easy and...

I don't think it will cause me to change how I spend my time on Mylot. When I have time, I'm here, but when I don't, I'm MIA.

@marlina On this Saturday morning, I have time to read and comment a bit. I'll probably write a post later. On my second cup of coffee and relaxing right now.

It won't change my behaviour either but I think it is a good thing for those who struggle every month to make payment. Even if it is only done perhaps every quarter or something it would be a good thing.

@TheHorse That's true and that would be a good thing. The other point is that it takes time to get a following and start to earn. If only new people would interact as much as possible and not even look at the bank for the first fortnight, it might make all the difference.

@RussTeed You do a good job of that. I'm employed too. The change won't affect how much we make, only how often some can redeem. It won't change my behavior here.

I've been pretty lazy this morning. Wrote one progress note, vacuumed, took some new pictures of the KLH 17s I have on Craigslist, and wrote a post here. Now I'm going to cycle to the bank and deposit an expenses check from work. Actually, that doesn't sound that lazy, does it? I'll attach the KLH 17 photo, just so it can get seen. I don't know if I want to do a post around it.

Yes, it's still my goal to make over $10 (my actual goal is the teens) each month. The change won't affect my behavior. But it will be nice if I get super busy for some reason. I don't see that happening in March or April, though.

It won't change my behavior at all. It does not change the amount we earn but only the frequency of payments. I think it will inspire a lot of low earners to produce more. I hope it does not lead to 'no quality' posts in their haste to earn a dollar.

This will be totally academic to me because whatever is not paid out one month will accrue the following month. I do not really care if it is set at $1 or $25, but I expect that some members will be happy about it.

I really don't care either way. For some it will be easier to see that first dollar in their account. It took me quite a while to get enough to qualify for payout. Had to find my groove I guess. I plan on saving the funds and tuck it away.

I am not sure how lazy is involved. Still the same amount of effort. Just more incentive because of the quicker payout. My guess is they will find a happy medium for the ones who can be active a fair amount. Maybe take the averages of the normal user and make the minimum ascertainable once a month for those people. Just my thoughts. I give them credit for trying something and they can then go from there.
