There are so many people have all the fun after having done their work in certain companies. The best day is Friday night. A venue where co-workers gathered together after working hours for drinks, that is commonly a social lifestyle for Koreans and Japanese. Taking the credit of being acquainted with the colleagues. If being invited and you don’t drink alcohol, it is essential to join with them especially because they might think that refusing the invitation is a sign of ignoring them. What do you think? Is it possible to join in even if you are not a drinker of such beverage?

Yes it's a good idea to join in even if you don't drink.
I didn't drink much and used to drive my colleagues around
Even when I was on nights they used to phone me at 4am to come pick them up and drive them to a house party
If you don't drink you can still be part of the team but you're likely to be the designated driver for your drunk work mates

@Shavkat But why should non drinkers take all that emotional vomiting from drinkers when they are high.
The next day, the drinker will just come and sorry as he was on high, but who will compensate for all that torture non drinker had to take for him.

@birjudanak I think it is fine. We can do it occasionally. We don't want to fall into sobering process.

Sometimes the social life can't be avoided. However, I still have my rule. Since I think I have face my colleagues most of the time in working time, so it is fair for me to spend more time with my family in my spare time. If I was single, perhaps I didn't mind going out with my colleagues sometimes. But now it is different. I am married and I have a child. I want to spend more time with them.

@youless If the status of life changes, then we need to set limitations. I think guys in your country are more in spending time with their colleagues after work. I am not sure, but women are more dedicated in taking good care of their children.

I think it is fine if need be.
I never thought it necessary and would not get involved after work.

@lilnana1111 I don't usually go with them in some occasions. It is a good thing that they understand why I can't go with them.

Being part of a team, there should be respect so respect those who do not drink. The down side is those who do not drink would find it hard to stay longer than those who do

It's okay to go out and socialize after work even if you don't drink. Sure you don't want to be misinterpreted as snobbish or something. You can go for a chat while they drink.
