I had posted a composition about a member who keeps on bragging about catching plagiarism in this site. In some extent, it has some responses and shared their thoughts about the topic. Please do accept my apology for deleting it, since it might adds fire to this person involved. I don’t want to pull it off myself in creating such post. Since it could take away the essence of having freedom of speech in this site. I am not asking for sympathy as for this person who created a post about plagiarism. As much as possible, I wanted to remain tactful. Now, I am giving you this question: “Would you be a police In myLot in catching plagiarism?”

I always report any violations, including plagiarism, which I come across. It's not a matter of "being the Police", it's something which EVERY member here should see as their duty. It's all about keeping the site clean and working the way it is meant to do for everyone.

Whenever I come across a violation, I report but will not brag about my effort. I have noticed some do it the moment they have reported. There is no need for that.

How can anyone catch plagarism? Is my first question. Are they part of admin or like a moderator? You are right....not sure if Mylot needs a vigilante like this. Although I agree plagarism is a bad thing. Will we have grammar police then, too? If so, please do not turn me in! Lol.

@Tampa_girl7 @Shavkat If we do not let Admin know about violations we see, though, then they cannot take care of them. They do not have time to read everything on here, and we should want to help keep the site a friendly and paying site, because when it got overrun before it also stopped paying.

@purplealabaster if I saw something that was in violation I would report it, but I don't want policing Mylot as my main goal. Some individuals take it overboard.

I don't like the attitude of bragging, no matter how excellent the person is. I guess it's our responsibility to report if there's any cheaters or spammers, but yes, I agree with you, there's nothing to be bragged about.
But, there are just some people who like to brag, no matter what.

I do not know what you are talking about, so I cannot comment on the particular instance you are referencing. My only thought is that perhaps the person was not bragging but rather trying to make others aware that reporting violations is a good way to keep the site clean and paying in the future.

@Shavkat I understand that bragging in a post is different from reporting directly to Admin. What I do not understand is what you consider bragging. If someone wrote a discussion about the value of reporting violations and encouraged people to report what they see in order to keep the site clean, friendly and paying, then I do not think that as bragging. If someone said "I have just reported eight violations in the last hour, and now I am off to find some more", then I would agree that sounds like bragging. On the other hand, if someone said "Oh my goodness, I have seen and reported three plagiarists today. What is up with these people?", then I would say that was complaining rather than bragging.

@purplealabaster I consider that last statement as bragging. It depends on what had written in its post. Regardless, the context that I read appeared bragging. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

No need to brag - just report and move along. No need to post a discussion regarding the topic.

@infatuatedbby There is a reason why we don't need to to brag in a discussion.

How do we know who plagiarise unless it's our own posts that's being plagiarised?.. But even that, we'll have to be on here 24/7 to catch anyone copying our post..

catch plagiarist and report it to the admin, that's the job of every mylotter here. whether you say it in the post or not, I think people need to be aware that were not gonna let them get away with it.

It would be nice if Mylotters reported any illegal activities going on here because it keeps our site enjoyable.

Really? Why bother plagiarizing here? It's not worth the effort. And, frankly, there are few Henry David Thoreaus here.

i havent reported someone who committed plagiarism and i dont think i will. we're all adults here and we know what's right and wrong. plus the guidelines are simple to understand, no need to be explained over and over. we all know the consequences if we keep going against it. lets all have a healthy attitude instead. we're all here to have fun, not create a hate post or put tension around here.
