I'm Addicted To The Gym

I spent my entire afternoon here at the gym. I'm actually considering of just moving in here. I don't exercise non-stop, as you can see I'm mylotting in between. But I do think exercise is quite addictive specially when people can see the results for your hard labours. This addiction is better than drugs and alcohol so I'm pushing through with it.

I do interval training. So every time i finish a set I rest for 1 minute and that's my mylotting time. It actually makes me forget how hard the work out is. Perfect combination I reckon.

@LdeL0318 A Then let's think of alternatives. You could jog around your area. And you could get a yoga mat and do yoga at home with the help of some YouTube videos. You could also buy dumbells for a bit of arm weights.

I pay 28$ a fortnight. It's a decent price and if I go frequently it's very much worth the pay. I used to have a fitness trainer. That was expensive. 50$ a week. I had to end it because I am experiencing financial constraints at the moment.

@Letranknight2015 Yep 28$ bucks. But I'm more motivated if I do it in a gym cause the environment as well is very inspiring and pressuring.

I love the gym as well. I find group classes more interesting though and I am trying to attend a class every day. I go for the fun and I am happy to see the progress as well! Exercise helps me forget all those stressful days at work and clear my mind! My boyfriend says that every time he sees me after gym, I look happier! It's probably true!

I haven't tried to join the group classes yet. I'm not sure if they charge extra for it. I do swear that sweating gets rid of all the bad vibes. Every after gym I feel tired yet I feel like my burden is lighter.

@besweet Does your gym offers boxing classes? That's one I really want to try and learn. I'm crossing my fingers that it's free. When I'm frustrated I work out. When I feel depressed and unmotivated, I force myself to work out. It's my recluse. Nice to meet a gym body here as well.

@flapiz You should try them if they are free of charge. In my gym they are included in the price and I have tried all of them at least once. Working out is amazing for stress relief! It's nice to see that there are more exercise enthusiasts in mylot!

An hour or more. I start out with cardio or running on the treadmill. Then I do a bit of cycling, rowing, and ellipticals. After that I do some weight training for my arms and legs. Then last would be my core workout.

@Letranknight2015 I try to do it 3 to 5 times a week. I can do cycling for 30 minutes as well. Weight lifting I could do longer but I do it per sets and with intervals. How heavy do you lift? Just flush their uric acid with water.

@flapiz That is CRAZY! I tried weight lifting some dumbbells, after 30 minutes it hurts already, same goes with my cycling only can take 20 to 30 minutes. I must be sick damn this uric acid thing . what time do you do it? and how many days in a week? wished I was that strong, you probably have huge muscles now.

I used to be really lazy as well. But well maybe in the future you'd change just like me. If you don't mind me asking, why are you on leg therapy?

I used to have a personal fitness trainer for 12 weeks but at the moment I don't anymore. It's too expensive to maintain specially now that my job is a bit unstable. It's 50$ a week for one 45 minute session.

This is a good habit to do more exercises. You will have a nice figure and you will be healthy, too. As long as you are healthy, you are already very rich. As you know today it is really crazy expensive to go to see a doctor.

That's true. I always say these to people, "I can't afford to be sick". Not without my mum and not without money. Since I started the gym 5 months ago I lost 6 kilos. I'm proud of my hard work.

Exercise is very good for you but don't over do it or you will do your joints in.

@flapiz From what I can gather to much exercise stops your body from losing weight and you can do untold damage to joints and all that.

Yes I've heard. And my friends also told me that over exercising could lead to overproduction of cortisol. A stress hormone that causes water retention and weight gain.

@suzzy3 Well yes that's true. I'm not doing too much I reckon. I know my body so when it's exhausted I stop. It's just being aware of our limits.

That's great. You still have the time to pump some irons in the gym.

I do weight training but not too much. I don't want big arms. By pumping iron do you mean lifting metal or is it the iron in the blood?

True. If I cancel my gym membership I'd be able to save some money but I think I need to keep my membership cause it makes me happy and it makes me feel good about myself.
