When I was in college, a friend of mind told me that I have a gift. That is, I could sense paranormal spirits. In fact, he is right in his claim. But then, I don’t actually consider it as a gift. I am so terrified to see a ghost and cannot take the chance to encounter with. In his persistence, he wanted to open my third eye and enjoy the gift. Well, I refused to do so. According to him, he can see dead people and appeared the same situation when the had passed away. It made me so curious about such claim. Are there anyone who has an open third eye here?

You are lucky to have those kind of gift. I have none but i believe unseen beings are just around us always and im none bothered by that. I am more afraid in the living than those we cant see because the living ones can actually harm us physically. :-)

I have seen some yes.
I do not go out of my way to do so though Shavkat.
I have a belief to leave well enough alone.

@TiarasOceanView I had seen a white lady before. Luckily, my sister and the rest of people had seen it too. If I am alone that time, I will run.

I had sen ghost many times and it is not scary as it is. I dont have an open 3rd eye but I am willing to have mind open if it can give some benefits like predicting the future.

@CaptAlbertWhisker That's my friend told me. You can see the future. I had seen some people who had claimed having that gift.

NO, only those who have a purpose and have deep faith can have opened this third eye.
otherwise, you might see a demon disguising as a ghost.

@Letranknight2015 Well, I had a seen a white lady once. But it never happened again. My friend also told me if I am not ready, then it is fine. It will open in time.

@Shavkat If there's no valid reason to open up your eye then don't.

I have heard of a third eye but never really understood it. I don't see ghosts but I can feel them, its a bit disturbing when it happens. I also know thing before they happen and that is more scary than a ghost.

The concept of a third eye I think is interesting, but my point of view might be slightly different-I think what we might call a 6th sense opperates like other senses-that is, it reacts to change. I think that is why meditation is often used, because it allows one to still the mind, and then possibly sense more subtle things around them. That is, in meditation, whether one is trying to open a third eye or not, at times they will have what one may call intuitions, or even momentary flashes-in meditation this seems to be universally experienced but not universally interpreted the same by everyone. I think another factor is that of context-for example, one of my first jobs was working in a hospice, and being in the context of hospital visitation and prayer, one would sometimes get a sense of certain things. In that sense, I think it is less of a kind of spiritual organ, then it is of the use of our entire being. Human beings are entire beings, meaning we have this physical side, but also what we may call a spirit-in living life, we seek to be whole beings, and that means using our full faculties. That said, I think you are wise to be cautious, because wisdom by nature of being wisdom is cautious:).

@CoffeeTime If ever I have the gift, I will also do the same thing. I wanted to help the restless soul and find its way to heaven.

I have not opened a third eye, but I have heard of it being done. I find it fascinating that you have this "gift" even though you do not consider it one. I personally do not have this ability so it is always intriguing when I hear someone else does!

@acannizz87 Personally speaking, I have also that curiosity about paranormal activity experienced by other people. No wonder I like that horror genre movies. I am always interested on such gift. When I was still an internship in a hospital, an old man talked to me out of the blue. He had predicted something that I can't believe at first. Eventually, it happened. At the back of my mind, his third eye is opened.

@Shavkat I have always been intrigued by horror movies as well, and anything paranormal. I have had people tell me that things would happen and I didn't believe it until it actually did. It definitely makes you wonder why some people have a third eye and why some don't.

Oh I don't think mine is open too. But sometimes these ghosts or entities ask me in my dreams if I want to see them and the answer is "hell no!!!" Of course I say it in a nice way.
Sometimes these psychic stuff can be a curse indeed. But if we find a way to make it into a gift for other people or ourselves then that's good right? Still I wouldn't want to see ghosts anytime. It would be a hassle to do pray overs and all that. Makes me think of Constantine. Woooh~ Wouldn't want to get into that kind of profession. I'll leave it to the priests and the other experts.

I have peripheral vision. I closed my third eye voluntarily when I was in my freshman college year.
