I set up a hidden camera so I could prove to you all that she does get up to no good! Here is what happened when I left the house for a couple of hours! Maddy decided to start jumping on the couch - what a little brat! ;) See - here is your proof @xstitcher!

Thank you! I hope to do more of this type of thing. It's so fun to see her come to life. I'm definitely not a pro at stop-motion animation yet, but I figure I can't get any worse with practice! :) Do you know how to tag others in a post or how to suggest a post to others? MyLot is still so new to me and I appreciate any help you can offer.

I love it, you did a great job of the animation..followed you on Twitter too.

@TiarasOceanView Oh, excellent! Thank you. I'm not sure why my original tag in the post didn't work but I don't give up that easy and will try again. Thank you so much for the help and also for the follow on twitter. Going to go find you there now too. And @xstitcher, here is the post of the proof that will help you regarding your teddy bears! ;)

Have you ever read Rumer Godden's books about dolls that come to life?

@madcrochetlab No, not scary, but interesting. They talk a lot about the dolls' feelings and observations of their people. My favorite is The Story of Holly and Ivy.

@petatonicsca I looked her up on Wikipedia - what a long list of books she's written! The doll ones do interest me as do many others. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some of them! Thanks! :)

@maezee Oh good, I'm glad you were able to see it and now I have another witness to her bad behaviour! ;) Thank you also for the kind words. :)

No @maezee - it is not a pet. It is a doll I crocheted and animated. it is a gif file so it may need a few mins to load and run, or it is possible it doesn't work on your computer or phone. If you still can't see it, I have it posted on my own hosted site here -
I hope it is okay for me to post that.

Thank you! It's true - it's not easy at all. A lot of work is involved, but it is so neat when it is done. :)

Yes, I make the dolls. The couch in this case was actually made for her by another of my crocheting friends though. Thank you so much. :)

That is soo cute. I wouldn't have doubted you, but that doesn't look like the couch but it does look like a bed.
How were you able to get her doing that without having your hand showing in the camera? That's as talented as her being able to jump all by herself when you're away.

Now that you've said that - it DOES look like a bed! Haha. I think it's the angle of the camera but it is definitely longer than wide and was made by a fellow crochet friend of mine specifically for Maddy's use as a couch. But now I'm thinking I could possibly lay her across it and use it as a bed too! Sorry I can't tell you all the secrets of how she comes to life but it is stop motion photography - you may be familiar with Gumby and Pokey or Wallace and Grommit. That is similar to how Maddy comes to life. :)

Thank you very much! Stop motion animation is a lot of work when you do it the old fashioned way like I do. But the result is kind of cool. I hope to get better at it. :)

@madcrochetlab Yes. Not an image, but an object. A friend once took a series of images of me sitting in the street holding my hands in position like I was driving an automobile. The give away was the setting sun.

Hahaha! I know you don't mean that she looks like Gumby so you must be referring to the stop motion animation. I did it all the old fashioned way - no special equipment, just a camera and taking a photo, then moving things and taking another photo, and so on, until I finished. It's a lot of work, but I thought it was fun and I learned a lot!
