Would you like use the translation software in Mylot?

English is not my first language, so I used to translate the translation software. However, I find that the translation software often fails to express my meaning, even wrong translation. So, I think the translation software can only be a help to improve language learning. Language learning need to learn and practice. What do you think?

The software works on certain algorithm and programming, it may not always interpret what you want to say correctly. It is only for some help but we cant depend on it entirely.

Translation software leaves a lot to be desired. When you speak two languages and translate either, you learn in a hurry they didn't necessarily convey your intent.

I am lucky. I don't need the software. English is also my second language. On the other hand, you are lucky. You have your e-dictionary compared during the old days.

Like you, English is not also my first language but I never used a translation software. One of my online jobs is on translation. Yes, you're right. Localization & translation of websites or applications more often than not, do not expess the real meaning of the word used.

I find translation software can be helpful if one already knows some of the target language. But it often fails to interpret idioms correctly, or uses the wrong meaning for a word in a given context. It's a tool that can help, but I think you're right to say learning the language is really best.
