I read somewhere to plant Marigolds flowers with your vegetables, I think it is suppose to keep the bugs away and maybe rabbits and deer. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

To the best of my knowledge they help to cut down on the mosquitoes, but don't quote me on that, hopefully there are more experienced gardeners on the site that will have certain information on this.

@Margielynn I always thought it was for the gardener, so that they wouldn't get so many bites while they work in the garden.

I donĀ“t know about rabbits and deer as I live in the city. But they keep bugs away from the veggies.

Slugs and snails love French marigolds, and I think the thinking is that they will eat them instead of the veggies.

I don't know much about it. COmpanion planting is when you plant certain plants together and they benefit each other. I'm not sure which plants go with which though.
