The Day I Fooled The Kids

At one time I ran a daycare from my home. I had a family of kids I watched consisting of two brothers and their younger sister. To say they were ornery and naughty is a bit of an understatement. They had been giving me a bit of trouble and with April 1st coming up I devised a plan with their mother's acknowledgement. I wrote this long letter full of new rules that they would have to follow. Some of them were the most ridiculous rules ever with one being the boys had to wear suits and tie while their sister had to wear a fancy dress with ribbons in her hair. Their mother set them down and keeping as straight a face as possible read it to them. She told me she about cracked up when one of the boys said "But we don't have suits". They thought I was serious until the end when their mother announced: April Fools!

Youngsters can be so gullible, but then again, adults can be the same. It is understandable how children are easily fooled, but makes you wonder when you can pull one over on an adult!

@irishidid Yes, of course! Those people who get carried away with dangerous pranks are not doing anything I consider funny at all.

That is a good one! I have had my fair share of children that were not the easiest that I watched, and that would have been a funny April Fool's joke to play on them.

I can just imagine the looks on their faces as their mother read those new rules to them.

That's a really great prank. The little boy who said he didn't have a suit was funny.

He's grown up now but it was sure funny at the time. I wonder if any of them would even remember it.

@irishidid There's a good chance. I can remember a few of the pranks played on me and pranks I played as a little kid.

It's so funny teasing children, they will believe pretty much anything we tell them. So long as it's fun for them too
