Everyone is shocked to hear that I do not have a facebook account. I am on the internet a lot and I am IT person (no, I do not work on PCS, but I do work on mainframes).
I made this decision after my wife signed up for facebook a few years ago and I saw how much time she spent on it and she would show me some posts of friends doing something. That's nice that you know how your friends are doing, but common, I saw something from one our friends and it was like in 4 different posts. Post 1: we are going to the theater tonight. Post 2: We just sat down, the place looks great. Post 3: It is intermission now. Post 4: The show is now over.
I am sorry, I do not need to know every detail about everyone. So do you facebook?

To tell you the truth I am sorry I signed there my friend.
For many reasons.
The problem is you cannot delete your acct in my understanding.
You can take it off for a while though.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I do facebook but i'm not on it all the time. I just get on to see photos of my nieces and nephew and catch up on their lives as they live farther than me. I like to keep in touch with family on there that's why i have it.

I would be interested in joining if that is all I saw. I just know once my friends found out, they would friend me or whatever you do on Facebook and then I would have to accept and then I would be stuck reading or viewing stuff I am not interested in at all.

That is the #1 reason why I won't join. I don't care that your dog just went to the bathroom or you finished your makeup.

true I don't know why people post each and every detail like you described. even I hardly open my facebook account. sometimes its fun to read the sensible post, and watch the funny videos.

I do like the funny videos. I guess I have my private screener (my wife that has a facebook account) for the videos. If she thinks it is funny, she will show me.

I have a Facebook account, but rarely visit anymore. I used to spend free time playing games there, but quickly got bored with it. The only reason I made it in the first places was because my family always posts their business on there and then everybody comes to me "Did you know about so and so? I don't give a rats butt anymore. Their business isn't that important if they can't talk to me directly about it.

I do use it. It helps me keep in contact with friends and family far away. If people are too crazy with posting, I hide them from my feed. That way, I can still check in with them if I want to, but I don't have to be flooded with all of their posts. Most people don't post all that often.
