Am I An April Fool?

Sometimes I think I am either the dumbest or most gullible person alive. People have been pulling April Fool's jokes all day long and I have been getting taken every time. You think after the first couple of times, my brain would tap me on the shoulder, "Hey, Bozo, this is April 1st, and this isn't for real." Lol. I think my mind is just preoccupied with something else. I am quite disappointed that as far as I know, I won't be getting that car I had looked at t his week. So, time to be disappointed and move along. Some people in the world have real problems, right? Still I can't help but have that little girl at the candy store who didn't get a lollipop when everyone else did feeling. Cry me a river... Anyway, one thing I AM happy about is that my daughter and son are coming over Sunday for a belated Easter dinner, along with my daughter's boyfriend and his two daughters and of course my son's family as well. Oh, here is another face palm moment for me: Last night, I texted my daughter to tell her I was asking her brother to lunch Sunday since he would be home. I didn’t have my glasses on. This is what I ended up texting her: “Your brother is hiking to come home Sunday so I am going to ask them to lunch.” (Spell check changed my misspelled going to hiking.) Amanda: That’s awesome! Bubba is hiking home??? (Photo is my for-real owl coffee cup my friend got my for my birthday last year. No particular reason, I just like it...)

LOL, I never even attempt an April fools prank. Everyone expects it so it is useless.

I went to work one day and my coworker told me the guy that got fired a few days before had come in and shot the owner of the business. The owner was in the hospital but would recover. The guy was hauled off to jail. I stood there with my mouth hanging open in disbelief when he shouted, "April fool's!" I could have shot him. I swore I would get back at him someday. So a couple of years later he called me up and asked me to do some computer work for him (he didn't have a computer). It was near the end of March. It hit me that I had a chance to get back at him. I did the computer work for him but waited until April 1st, to let him know I was done. I called him up and told him I had the work done. Then I said, "I charge $50 an hour and I spent 10 hours doing this." Neither one was true. He didn't say a word for just about a minute then he said, "Oookay." Then I told him it was an April fool's joke and I wasn't charging him anything. But it must have really scared him because he went out and bought his own computer.

I was always the person who can be easily fooled, that's why my friends liked to make fun of me. Perhaps I was too innocent and easily trusted others. But now, it seems like people around me do not play jokes anymore on this day. They might be too busy with their life, their work, their family. Glad to know that your children are visiting you and having a belated Easter dinner. Hope you will enjoy the special date with them! The owl cup is nice! I am sure my children will like it if they see it. (Why do children like owls? )

That's kind of a hilarious texting error. Autocorrect has come back to bite me before too.

I hope the jokes were at least funny, don't think too much of it, sometimes we all get fooled by a prank or two.

Well, one was actually kind of lame. Our exec staff put wet paint signs on the bathroom doors. Lol... I was touching the walls to see if they were wet.

is that "belated" Easter dinner, this Sunday? Pretty late---almost a year after last Easter, a week before this Easter ... oh, whoops I didn't see that the date above said "2016"
