Should the government dictate laws based in part on particular religious beliefs?

An interesting question and one that seems important lately given states passing laws that discriminate to "protect religious values."

No! Never! Politics and religion must be strictly separated.

Tell that to the American politicians , like the ones in a state that just passed a law saying businesses can refuse to serve gays if it goes against the owners "religious" beliefs. The governer of that state says it's to "protect the rights of those with religious values" but what about protecting the rights of everyone?

Politics and religion are one and the same. They can not ever be separated. I'm not sure where this misnomer ever came from. Politics: the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power. Religion: a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance. As politics are founded in religious beliefs by the humans that pursue them, grounded by the limited knowledge of moral and ethical values in any geographical area. I find it odd that people believe that they can turn against their true nature this way. Humans are the only creatures on this earth that think they can disobey the laws of nature. This is the greatest failure that man will ever suffer. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Like it or not the basic structure of any founded religion worth it's salt on this earth all teach the same basic principals. Ever find it odd that in each of them they have a form of fasting, parables and a set basic structure. Humans have only progressed outwardly, the race as a whole are failing inwardly more and more. It is due to the moral and ethical decay of the human race's minds. Our school systems are failing due to the teachers inability to do exactly what you stated here. “Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. If you continue to believe as you have always believed, you will continue to act as you have always acted. If you continue to act as you have always acted, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. If you want different results in your life or your work, all you have to do is change your mind." They believe that they have the right to punish a child for their political/religious views. As if the child was their enemy. We lead by example, not by force. The people that we must deal with on a day to day basis from our birth to present time teaches us how to deal with life. As our morals are a form of learned behavior. Most parent/parents/teachers have little to no clue that their child is learning how to deal with events in their lives based on watching how their parent/parents/teachers react to their day to day situations. Although there are so many other variables to this equation such as an unwanted or unexpected child that each case is unique. Remember that parent/parents/teachers are very much human as well. They grew up with the same learning curves as you have from their parent/parents/teachers. Sometimes it's not that they do not care, it's that they do not understand how to deal with another human being. This being the case for more teachers now. "The one thing that we as humans tend to forget is that we are human." "We lead by example not by force." Yes I stated that because both sides are guilty of this. The media is more so guilty of this because they are the agitators that would have you believe that the Third Reich is upon us. When in fact it is small, very small incidents that have no barring on the leadership of this nation at all. Antifa, BLM, KKK, and others like them only serve to show the weakest links on both sides of the board. It is nothing more than great ratings. Our president is not by any means raciest. He is a business man that has more understanding of the usefulness of illegal aliens in this country. Who do you believe is the builders of this nation now. Go to any local construction site and open your eyes. “Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others' actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others' activities. For this reason, it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others." These are the people that are helping to build America. They are not in the streets burning the American Flags, they are not beating others for their beliefs and they care more for the American way of life because they understand the true American dream. I'm to the point now that I believe that if you burn the American Flag then you are burning your rights as an American and should be deported. So that one of these true Americans that have done everything within their abilities to adhere to the laws to become an American citizen will take their place. Watch the movie A day without a Mexican. . “A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.” Make America Great Again!!!!!! "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so, it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes." However, I digress from the topic to show just how politics and religion are one and the same in the narrative. The human mind can not make unbiased decisions. “To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
