How do you peel a fruit using peelers, is it inward or outward?

This is just a survey, I peel it outward even i use knife or peelers. I feel much comfortable doing it that way. I saw some people doing it inward, and i feel awkward watching them specially when they use knife, but i can see that they are also comfortable by doing it so.
How about you guys?

outward, but i do know there's a ''folk belief' that outward means 'spendthrift,' while inward means 'thrifty.' have you heard of that?
i always use a peeler. i'm a little clumsy and might cut myself if i used a knife.
i'm also amazed at those who can open cans using a knife.

I do it inward. I am not use to the outward way of peeling fruits and veggies.

If I use a peeler I usually go down so the peel falls into the sink and I can clean it up easily.
