Hubpages Making Some Changes

I just received an email about some changes hubpages is making. They are opening up some new sites related to specific niches which they believe will be more sustainable in the coming years. The first two niches they are starting with will be related to tattoos and pets.
I received this email because they will include one of my hubs in one of the sites they will roll-out later in the year. The hub of mine that will be included is one I did on How to Get Rid of Weed Trees. I believe that article gets a decent amount of hits per year.
This news will hopefully spur me on to get busy and redo my articles/tutorials about how to best use Evernote and other programs.
This link explains a bit about why they are moving in this direction.
Hello, Hubbers! Today, we are pleased to be able to share with you our plan for 2016. We’re still as determined as ever to break out of Panda, and we will continue to raise the quality of wri…

How many articles do you have there, Reine? Is your username the same? I can look you up when I head back there again, which I want to do in the near future.

@pholli347 You shouldn't get your account deleted even if you're not active there. Even if you had articles not published yet or not featured anymore they don't normally delete accounts as far as I know. Maybe ones that are spammy or constantly disobey the rules, but most writers do their best regarding the TOU for each site, so I'm sure you are still there.

I also had an account there and I have not been on for eight months. I will look into hubpagges a little later and see if my account is still active or cancelled. I did not make anything there as well; I hope to have better luck in the future there.

@MarshaMusselman they dislike articles with too much of a personal edge and often delete articles without explaining why - they edit it as though editing Wikipedia. They asked me for so many revisions without specifying why that I just quit writing there

@arthurchappell I didn't realize all that, Arthur. I've had a few articles on there for several years now and they've not made any of those requests to me. They did edit my article that they moved to the niche site, but they did a good job, so I'm fine with it.
The only way mine are personal is I have a few favorite recipes, and how to's for homeowners.

I'm not sure how they are 'elitist', Arthur. They do have their own way of doing thing, but so do many other writing sites. The main thing is you can gain some residual income from them once you're there a bit and if you have articles people are searching out.

Not really. It is a place to do some actual writing. Longer posts work well there. You can do tutorials, favorite recipes and many other things too. The one they are moving to the new niche site is one I did about things I learned regarding how to eliminate trees you don't want from your yard and garden.
I want to put my tutorials there. I'd probably make more than I do if I took time to write more articles to display, but I've not done anything since I began at bubblews. I took time to interact a bit when I first began there, but I make money even though I've not been back again which is a nice benefit.

I received a payout of fifty dollars earlier last year, and I don't visit the site anymore or do any interacting. I think it probably took a bit of that in the beginning to get started there. I really should check back in more often to see how each of my articles are faring, but I rarely do that like I should.

I looked at my stats last night and discovered that I've had well over eighteen thousand hits on just that one article. THey've already moved it to a new niche site named Zengarden.

I've heard of Hubpages but never checked it out. You think it's a decent site? At this point, I'm not looking for anything too demanding.

Hubpages was around before bubblews, and I got started there before I joined the B site. Squidoo and hubpages were similar to some degree, so if you ever had squidoo lenses it would be like that. When squidoo closed it's doors they made it available for their members to have articles on squidoo transferred over to hubpages although the writers may have had to make some changes as the set up is different.
I've had about five articles there since almost the beginning of my start. One of them has received the most hits of all. The one they, hubpages has moved to a niche site is one that has received over eighteen thousand hits. It must come up in web searches a lot for that many to find my article.
I spent time interacting there when I started and before heading over to bubblews. I never interacted as much as I did at bubblews or elsewhere, yet somehow my articles do have views. So, I'd say it's a worthwhile place to check out. You may need to meet some members for a bit at first, but eventually the views will come regardless if your articles answer a need. It's the only place where I can still get a little residual income even though I barely stop in.

I don't write there, but I enjoy seeing what other sites think. "Break out of Panda", love it!
