I know this is not a very good picture, but it is the best I could do at the time. I had noticed this large nest in some trees down the road from us and yesterday I spotted the something sitting on the nest.
I grabbed my camera and could tell it was an owl's nest. The picture was taken from the truck as I had him stop on the road, luckily there were no cars behind us.
I have never seen an owl's nest before and am very excited to find this one. There is no where to pull off the road nearby, but I am going to try again for a better picture.

That is a great picture of an owl even if the nest is not so easy to see. Great job from the truck.

That is super cool. I have never seen an owl's nest. The only owls I have ever seen have been in a zoo.

Thanks, John! I see an owl every now and then out here in the country, but it is usually so dark I can't see them very well and I have never seen an owl's nest either! I am going to try again soon and see if I can get just a little bit closer! :)

how wonderful!! what a treat to see'n person 'n what a humblin' 'xperience to catch'em both! no doubt they've some wee ones to tend. i've rarely seen'n owl here durin' the daylight 'n fear the ones 'round here don't tend to nest'n trees - but ground burrows out'n the pastures.

@crazyhorseladycx Yes, I never see one during the day, just at night when it is too dark to get a picture of him. Isn't it amazing how quietly they fly!

Thank you, @DeborahDiane I have not been here for a while. I've been busy with a new grandbaby and life in general. I'm glad you stumbled onto me! I hope you and yours have been doing well! :)
