Some people earn more than three to five times than what I earn and they have all the comforts, but still they always say that they do not have enough money all the time. Sometimes I wonder what they do with the money the earn. Are they simply saying so or are they spending money they earns?

@ajithlal The problem with lending money sometimes is that once you lend money and other people learn about it, they will also ask you money. There is nothing wrong with lending money but sometimes, once a person got already the money he or she borrowed, he/she forgot his/her responsibility to return it. The worse is when you ask your money, they will even have the urge to get angry to you.

@annierose true, when in time of needs you help them but then when in time for you to need it. Or time for them to pay it. They go into hiding or go hulk at you.

Because of cost of living differences. Because we live in a world that costs money. Because people have different goals to reach and what they earn is too little to reach them.
I can survive on small amounts. I can move forward with what I have, but I would love to make enough money to achieve my goals, and on my current salary I definitely cannot do that. However, I don't complain about not having enough money, but talk about how I need to make more. Of course, it doesn't help that the government takes 27% of what I earn. If they were to take 10%, I'd suddenly be able to move towards my goals.

@OneOfMany I hope so they will realize that. Everything has tax in here. Not only salaries but also pricess of goods and even when you will travel, there is still a tax.

@annierose They take too much. I think all governments should use some of what they take to convert to sustainable systems, so they become less of a burden.

I guess some people might not be grateful for what they have, and they always want more. I have heard that from some of my friends as well. They always complain about not having enough money, but when you look at how they spend and what they bought, you will understand why it's never enough for them. It seems like this is quite common nowadays.

@annierose I agree with what you said about "incomplete". It seems like there are many people would like to look for happiness from the outside world or materialistic world, but not from within themselves. They always try to find something to "complete" themselves from outside, but not from inside.

It is true. Some people are just good in asking but not good in saying "thank you." That is the reason that they always feel incomplete. When they established the belief that their money is not always enough, then they will be used on that thinking. So even if they have enough money already, they will still say they do noy have enough.

I have a colleague who spends more than what she can afford. She spends more and loves to borrow money to buy things which are not really needed. Even though she has a good salary monthly, it is still insufficient for her because of her too many vices.

@ajithlal,Such persons are 'cursed' to keep crying all the time. The always feel insecure.I have seen millionairs complaining they don't have money. Why they do so,I don't know.May be,they think,if they say they have money, others would try to take undue advantage of it.

@else34 Disappointing too! It is because instead of being thankful for all the blessings, he even complain. I hope he will change his mindset soon.

@ajithlal You are right.I know a rich man here.He has been the owner of two patrol pumps, two rice mills, seven mauls, one cinema hall and has the agency of a famous textile company. If you meet and talk to him,he will begin and end the conversation by complaining about 'lack of money.'How disgusting!!

I feel they earn well yet they just EARN MONEY they don't earn the non-materialistic pleasures of life.If they love their family, spend time with them and their friends not by holding parties and wasting money on the celebrations but by just talking with them about themselves and about everything, then they would be rich in real sense.
They may have the best of pennies yet if they don't have the non materialistic satisfaction they can never and surely they will be like they want more.

Today everything costs much more and therefore it can be understanding that there is no more money left, especially for the youngs. But sometimes I wonder when people complain about that they don't have money, do they also hint that don't try to borrow money from me?

When you have less money you know how to survive the limited money. Same time your earning increases your needs also increase, this is happening naturally without our knowledge. Rich people may follow a rich lifestyle so their earnings simply not enough to meet the expenses even though their earnings are high.
This is the specialty of human beings

A man once told me that when his salary increases, so does his lifestyle. That's why though he earns a lot, his life is still the same. Nothing has changed.

We should live within our means only. Needs should always be prioritized than the wants. Sad to say, some people prioritize more the wants than the needs.

They are probably spending too much on the wrong things. Most we know with what appears to be an excess have pricier items than we do.

Even though me and my husband are earning a decent income, I still think it's not enough because of our daughter. I would like to give her more than what I can give her now. I also dream of travelling around the world, and that is very expensive, so what I'm earning now really isn't enough.

maybe they are saving for something that they don't want others to know
maybe they don't want people to think they have excess money

Earning much does also not mean being responsible with it. there were times i could go thru $1000 a day and could not show anything meaningful i did with it.
Now i earn very less but my money is used so wisely because i make plans before i splash out.
