LinkedIn, do you have it and do you even use it?

I have a LinkedIn account and I signed up for it a couple of years back but I haven't really used it.
I'm thinking of deleting it but my friends keep saying not to because it's important.
Is it really important to have a LinkedIn account? I don't see a lot of people excited about having an account in LinkedIn. People just say let's connect on FaceBook instead of LinkedIn.
Do you have one and do you even use it?

It seems to help people who are active at work, but it is not for retired people like me.

so would you say it's pretty useless as a social media platform?

@chipesterkhan I´d say so. It is more to let other people know that you are on a certain activity

@enlightenedpsych2 I´m sure it can be helpful for some. But I have a full agenda with just the people I know. And I´m invited to all the writing activity in the city , book readings and the like. I don´t have time for most of them though.

I have a LinkedIn account and everybody in our office has a LinkedIn account as well. Some of my colleagues even got job offers from other LinkedIn members. I think Facebook is very different with LinkedIn. I use mine as a professional's profile because it might come in handy someday.

I have a LinkedIn account but I rarely use it like I do Facebook. LinkedIn is more like for building professional connections. They also post job openings there so if you're looking for work, you can go there.

LinkedIn is mostly for jobs and being professional. People put their resumes up there and experiences and network with others. It is not really social networking just business networking. I was able to contact my 8th grade teacher using it because I thought it would have been weird to just add him on facebook haha.

I never have made one of these, although I know a lot of friends and coworkers who have. I think it's good for people in the business world who want to "network". To me, "networking" is not a thing. I work an entry-level job, not a businessperson, and I don't really see any use for it that this time. I think it's more of a professional networking thing, but definitely different than Facebook or other social media accounts.

I have an account on linkedin; however, I rarely use it. Since I´m not looking for work, I think is useless for me. I don´t see the benefits!

I have it and never use it . It's a good idea in theory, however in reality not so great in my opinion

@chipesterkhan probably. Future employers never ask if you have it.
