Feeling lazy to exercise

I am 33 years old with 180 cm height and 75 kg weight. I am slightly overweight compared to my weight. I had started to do yoga 3 months back but due to my laziness i stopped doing it a month back. I feel guilty about not taking care of myself and my health. But i am continuing some breathing exercises. After i started doing these breathing exercises my blood cholestrol and Triglycerides have markedly decreased and HDL levels have gone up.
I have also made some changes in my diet to improve my health. I am taking vegetable salad once a day regularly and taking fruit juices thrice daily. After all diet also plays a very important role in our health. And without a strong healthy body and a sound mind, we cannot celebrate life and live in joy and happiness. Do you exercise or do yoga regularly? How do you keep yourself fit?

I'm not fat but I'm not slim either. I just eat less sometimes and more on veggies and fish in my daily meals.

You dont have any health issues? Do you regulate your weight just by diet alone is it? I wish everyone could do that.

Try dancing. It is a fun way to stay fit. But breathing exercise is great too. Perhaps you're not lazy, but need more energy. I'm not too familiar with Yoga, but it does seem more relaxing than other work outs.

I guess for all of us maintaining weight is a constant process . I have been told that our weight in inches multiplied by 2 = pounds, is the ideal weight. I am slightly overweight but not too worried since my weight keeps fluctuating. I am careful about my diet and I walk for an hour at least 4 times a week

@creativeintelligene True, walking is a very easy and enjoyable exercise...I walk whenever I can, while talking on the phone, sometimes it may take 10-12 mins and if we keep walking within the house from room to room you get enough exercise..

Good. Walking is considered to be the best exercise. It will not cause any injury and is also a complete workout. scientists nowadays are telling that we have take 10000 steps everyday to maintain our optimum health. I too will try to walk more inbetween my work.

@kiran8 I feel we can also minimise the use of vehicles for small distance travelling. Instead we can walk. Although we have to adjust our time and daily routine, gradually we will get used to it. The benefits we get are worth the effort

@mavlana I will make a time table. It is true that will power is the secret. Often we begin with great zeal and enthusiasm but soon lose it. It builds up guilt and frustration.

You are lucky to be blessed with a slim and fit body. I agree. Our work itself can also be a good exercise. But i need it very badly as you said.

I have done all sought of exercises in the past few years Jogging,Gymming,Swimming but it never really showed any kind of positive results. So I used to give up every time.
Last year I had a major ligament injury so I had to give up again. But a month back I started static biking. But earlier this month I had another ligament injury. And I cannot wait to start working out again. No excuses this time.

Two ligament injuries in such a short time. What happened?. Have you recovered from those injuries? Dont rush to exercise. I feel first you have to recuperate and rejuvenate yourself. Then start with light and gentle exercises and slowly intensify your exercise regimen.

@Blue_bubble Go easy with your exercise regimen my dear friend. Please exercise under the guidance of your fitness instructor atleast for sometime. I hope you will not pick up any injuries in future. Take good care of yourself.

@creativeintelligene Thanks for the advice. I'll bear that thing in mind.
Both the injuries were ACL injuries and happened while I was doing some sought of physical activities. I'am 19 so it's hard to deal with all this. But it is much easier than the last time.

I tried Yoga a while ago. But like you laziness stopped me from doing it again. I believe yoga is very intense. It hurts a bit but it really good for you. Good job on eating better. Have you lost any weight since eating better? It would be nice to have a online weight loss buddy.

I have lost 10 kilos in the past 1 year. But it still not good enough. I need to decrease minimum 5 more kilos to reach the optimum weight. Eating vegetables once daily is helping me a lot. It contains dietary fibers which reduces weight and cholesterol.

Yoga doesnt help much in reducing weight. But there are special pranayamas like Kapalbhati pranayam and Agnisar kriya, which can reduce our weight. They also increase the life force in our body and detoxify us. We feel very fresh, vital and alive after doing these pranayamas.

If you do not enjoy treadmill, you can try dancing. Dancing not only burns our calories, it also uplifts our mood and energy levels. Also moderation in diet is very helpful. Eat more fibres , whole grains and green leafy vegetables.

I feel its time we realized the importance of exercise in our lives. But it is difficult to motivate ourselves to exercise. Even though we begin with enthusiasm we sometimes lack the will to sustain it. Good luck for your exercise plans.
