I have been craving a really nice chocolate cake. The type that does not have a dry sponge, but has a nice soft sponge and lots of buttercream chocolate topping and also some chocolate buttercream filling.
I am not asking for much, but can't seem to find my ideal chocolate cake anywhere! Most supermarkets sell the ones that either have very little toppings or very dry sponge :(

The fun will be in the tasting, I'm sure! I just got a recipe for a Coca Cola cake that's simply chocolate cake mix with diet coke and then frosted. I'm making it for my nephew's visit since this is one of his favorite chocolate cakes. It is moist and tastes wonderful, but I'm sure it's not what you're seeking! lol

Grocery store cakes leave a lot to be desired. You need to make your own.

lots and lots of buttercream is my favorite too. I hate when there isn't much icing on a cake. Hope you find your perfect chocolate cake

Once a year I get my dream chocolate cake when my mother makes my birthday cake from scratch.

How are you at cooking? Maybe you could just make it yourself and then you know it would be what you like. I really do not like chocolate cake at all. My son won't eat ANY cake unless it is chocolate with chocolate frosting. I have never liked it. He does not take after me with his food likes.

I love red ribbon cake and in the city i live in, there's a bakeshop that sells the cake that you just described. So i only eat chocolate cakes from two shops. Moist and very delicious.

i have a sweet tooth but chocolate cake with chocolate filling and chocolate icing is something i would find too sweet - unless some of it is dark chocolate. let us know when you find it.

Pepperidge Farm does a nice chocolate cake. I used to love german chocolate ones but now they are so expensive and aren't near as good as they used to be. My BFF puts cherry filling in hers where the one filling goes on the cakes. It is interesting. Good luck on your search.

@gudheart ...Baking is more creative. Maybe a frozen ice cream and cake mix.

I used to work in the bake shop of a large grocery store in the Chicago area. I know in that bake shop they will make a cake just about anyway you want. Have you tried that?

@gudheart Ask for a smash cake only, you know the ones people buy for their 1 year old baby. I bet they would do that.

It's a quote from the game, Portal.
As you're going from level to level, you discover that the AI is lying to you. She's been promising cake through your whole experience, but your predecessors have scribbled the truth on the walls : The cake is a lie.
