Currently, I am in a relationship that is just blossoming. Love is filling the air, and through communication, consideration, and conversation over confrontation, we've made it work for months.
I just wanted to know a few things that married people believe are the key things to have and consider when dating or being with someone for a long time. I also wanted to know what single people think, either from experiences of success or failure.

I have been married w/ my loving husband for six years. We have been through ups and downs.Last year was the toughest. I guess what keeps us together are our willingness to make our marriage work and of course our love for each other.

The first thing you need to understand about a relationship is that there are two of you. You can't discuss your relationship without discussing the other person's relationship because you're both in the same relationship. So what you need to know first and foremost is if your partner is OK with your private relationship being discussed publicly, with a bunch of strangers. What might be OK with you might not be cool with him or her. Some people fiercely protect their privacy and intimacy and don't like the idea of being on display. That being said … the obvious foundation for any relationship is love and trust, through the good times and the bad.
