I know of Bollywood, that India produces more movies than any other country and recognize a few Bollywood star names. I have never seen an Indian movie. I have seen the incredible Aishwarya Rai-Bachan in her English language movies.

Oh thats great John and yes Bollywood makes more movies than any other country and the good part is that other actors are also coming in English Language movies. Like in the latest jurassic park movie Irfaan Khan played the owner of Jurassic Park and Priyanka Chopra playing in the TV Series Quantico. Even Anil Kapoor played in 24 :)

@sonesh1 Its the older films that I like and the older actors - Shashi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Dhritiman Chaterjee and of course Amitabh Bachchan. My best memory is of going to see 36 Chowringhee Lane a long time ago.

@sonesh1 I used to live in Paris and there was a cinema that showed 3 Indian films every day for 3 months and I saw many of them. That was in 1986 so it's mainly those old films that I know and they were so enjoyable. I prefer them to modern cinema.

@xFiacre exactly. And one more thing is there. Be it bollywood or Hollywood or for that matter any language cinema. The movies in the past made more sense.

I adore Aamir Khan and my favourite films are Lagaan and Mangal Pandey. Which is a bit weird as both are anti British films and I'm British.
