Whenever I have mango pulp for dinner, for some reason I get sleepy feeling. So I never have the pulp at office. I make sure that I take the pulp as sweet dish at home. Otherwise it gets in my nerves. Here in india we have many such mango pulp recipes. And we use it in many sweet dishes too. However one thing is common here, we get sleepy after eating enough of it. :D Do you feel the same or it's just me :D

I never felt sleepy after having mango. Or even if I did, perhaps mango was not the reason! By the way, quick question. Is that 'luchi' or 'puri' you have beside the bowl of mango pulp?

I never had that food so i don't know if i would fall asleep because of that food. All i know is that when we are full, we feel sleepy. There's a scientific explanation about that which i have forgotten.

its all because of nutmeg powder in the pulp.

The only kind of mango I have had is the freeze dried mango that you can buy from Sunsweet brand at Walmart. My psychiatrist told me that in his country mangos grow all over like apples do here. He said that when they are very ripe they are very juicy and will drip all down your arms as you try to eat them. My son used to love dried mango but not anymore. It is pretty pricey here.

yeah it is pricey in US because they are imported from Africa and India the most. Dried mangoes don't taste well but regular mangoes does.

@skysnap I love the dried mango maybe they add to sugar to it I would have to look at the package to see. It is nice and chewy so I feel like I am eating a special treat like gummies.

I haven't tried to eat mango pulps. I would prefer to eat the meat of this fruit. I would feel sleepy because I had eaten a lot. Most of the oxygenated blood focuses on my stomach to assist in digestion.

I've had mango pulp but I never did feel sleepy afterwards. In fact, I feel more energetic. Must be all that sugar!
