Another Party and Another Beautiful Tree

Are you tired of reading about trees yet? After my three posts on boabs, you might prefer a change. But I had to share this incredible photo of Vince's, taken at the Golden Valley Tree Farm in Balingup, Western Australia, not too far from where we live.
It is autumn here and the deciduous trees are all trying to outdo each other with their colourful foliage. I think this is a swamp cypress (Taxodium distichum). It has fine, feathery foliage and is usually associated with the mangrove swamps of the Everglades.
It prefers damp soils. If the roots are waterlogged, it will grow above-ground roots known as 'knees' or pneumatophores. It is thought that these act as snorkels and carry oxygen to the underground roots. I'm not positive of my identification. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed a swamp cypress?
And just to let you all know, we're away now till Monday so behave and I'll see you in a day or two. And wouldn't you know our internet dropped out for several hours just before I managed to get the photo uploaded. Apologies to all

I think your state and my area have quite similar climates.

It is a beautiful tree but I'm so glad we're in spring so our trees are in bloom - fall depresses me.

@JudyEv I hate winter, therefore fall depresses me since it means winter is coming. I live in a beautiful area for fall color and I enjoy it about one day.

@AbbyGreenhill That's a bit of a strange attitude - if you don't mind me saying. It means you now dislike two seasons instead of one. Might as well dislike summer too as it means there it will soon be autumn.

@JudyEv yes ma'am! if'n i'd a better water source, i'd be seein' 'bout gettin' me some more colorful trees durin' the autumn months. seems those prefer a diff'rent clime than what's natural'n these parts.
i'd still love to climb through that pic'n jest sit there, watchin' 's the leaves gently fell 'n made that blanket beneath.

@crazyhorseladycx I don't really understand people who don't like leaves under a tree. I guess they don't stay beautiful but they look lovely at least for a time. I love to see a wisteria or jacaranda with a carpet of mauve.

Jacarandas are certainly lovely. Do they grown in Ireland? Not sure if they are frost susceptible or not.

That is one gorgeous tree! And no, I never get tired of reading about trees or seeing trees or talking about them. I don't know anyone around here who loves trees as much as I do, so it's refreshing to find someone else "out there" who loves them, too! :)

@JudyEv The one thing I really miss over at my old house is a weeping pine tree that my husband bought for me a few years back. I really love that tree and it's grown to be a gorgeous tree! I hope I get my phone back before the house gets sold so I can get some photos of the tree and frame them here.

@Daljinder I took no offence at your response. I was embarrassed because I didn't know if the post had actually 'taken' then I discovered it had but had no photo. I'm glad you came back and can now see how beautiful it is. Have a great day.

@JudyEv I am so sorry. I just re-read my response and it came out as clipped and like a brushing off statement. I cringed a bit myself reading it. I have edited it now.
The tree is absolutely beautiful. The base of the tree and the ground covered with red is really cool!

It seems fine again now but I wasn't able to do as much as I wanted to before it crashed.

That is a really beautiful tree, I love the bright red color and how it reflects off the water. Great picture.

Love the photo. Looks like our maples in the fall but so much more interesting on the edge of a pond.

Every day I keep wondering about nature and its variety to the extent I take them for granted! Every turn brings something special for me. I recall my visit to Blue Mountain and saw trees centuries old and patted few for standing the test of time!
Alas, I can only see this as just a tree but so colorful - takes my breath away. Your words complement your husband's inimitable photo - siva
