awfully brave. . . It looks like a small female cat who keeps coming around our backyard. Now we have 2 cats who are allowed outside and who spend time out there so this cat must be seeing them out there.
Once I got both of them inside for the night, the stray was up on my back steps rubbing his/her face all around like he owned the place. My boy cat watched this from the other side of the glass back door and growled the whole time.
I wonder where this cat came from. He won't last long if he plans to try to live in this yard.

We've had a few strays around here through the years. My roommate would feed them. We had a shelter thingy on our porch about the size of a small dog house with a blanket in it at one point for one particular stray.
The cat you have in your yard might be abandoned and not feral though. I think the ones that came around here were abandoned and the one had been on its own so long it had become feral, although still depending on humans for his survival. My heart broke every time I saw him. He was a scruffy guy, in fact that's what we called him. Scruffy.

We have a couple of stray's that come around sometimes. Our cats lose their minds when they see them.
