Can People Seriously Not Go 2 Hours Without Looking at their Phones?

Big pet peeve of mine. I, admittedly, have a phone too and check it periodically. But, more often than not, I put it in my pocket and only look at it every once in a while. And, I definitely don't pull it out when I'm having dinner at a restaurant or am doing something that requires my attention. Today, when we were at my daughter's dance recital, the auditorium lights were turned down and, every minute or so, someone was pulling out their phone to check Facebook, texts, etc. This included the guy sitting two seats down from me. It was only two hours, I think they could have waited. But, maybe I'm just old fashioned.

I forget to even take my phone with me. That is how disconnected I am.

My brother chewed me out the other day (through my wife) because he sent me a text and I had my phone shut off.

that's when you wish that a place like that had cell phone jammers.

I just hope the light from those cell phones didn't mess with the video they were making of the performance. It was a one-time thing and I wouldn't want that memory ruined.

That is so annoyong. I will admit if I am bored I check it frequently. But at work or when Im out with friends it stays in the purse. Plus, its just plain rude!

I do have my phone with me most times and do check it every now and then.. But yea, i can deal without it for two hours or more.. And i can leave it at home if i really wanted to.. There are people that will even use it even if in church and the mass is still goin on..

I see that too. While going for walk on a nature path someone was coming the other way with a phone. I was hoping a big grizzly bear would come out of the woods.

When you're living life you don't need to check your phone so much. I enjoy my phone but I also enjoy good movies, books, sports, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family. When I am old and gray I am sure my best memories will be times I spent with my family and friends, not scrolling through Instagram or Facebook.

I guess gadgets became our basic necessity nowadays. It turned out that some people cannot live without it.
