One of my favourite past time back in the Philippines and even up to now here in Australia is doing karaoke. With a microphone and some songs I'm ready to get rolling. It's a very good anti depressant for me. It helps me vent out my frustrations too.
Do you guys do karaoke too? Any favourite tunes?

i'm assuming you're singing at home with the windows closed so as not to disturb the neighbors? hehe.

@hereandthere The cheapest one I've tried is 6$ an hour per person. Quite pricey compared to our rate back home.

@mishapots As long as they're having fun it doesn't really matter how it sounds. But karaoke does improve singing and confidence.

@mishapots Yeah it actually helps me vent out my life stresses and let the pressure out.

Yeah that's the way to go. Although during occassions I find it quite hard to get hold of the microphone as everyone is eager to sing.

I do. My father is so fond of it I bought him one so he can sing his heart out at home. Although he does it only on weekends and sings only until 9 pm so as not to disturb our neighbors. Anyway, our neighbors live a little distant from our house so we don't get complaints at all. :-)

@dudibelles True most Filipinos can sing or at least have the confidence to sing because of karaoke.

@flapiz I've always wanted that too but what I bought was a little different. I think Karaoke really helps someone's singing skill to improve even just a bit. hehe

I do not do karaoke, but I would like to try. The problem would be that my voice is not trained to make pleasant sounds. I need some training of the vocal chords to utter good voice sounds.

@flapiz I have tried before but not with a microphone, only a capella. Some people say that I don´t do it too bad, but I don´t like me.

They say Filipino celebrations is never complete without the karaoke. One main reason is that we all love to sing regardless of our vocal abilities hehehe. I don't know of I can already consider myself a karaoke fan. Eith or without I will sing on nevertheless. Unfortunately many of my favorite songs aren't available on the list. :(

@anachroniSaM I like old songs. Luckily most of them are on karaoke. I like singing the Carpenter's songs as it is easy to sing.

@flapiz in my case most of the songs i love to sing are the unpopular kind, but some still make it to the list and i am glad i could sing it in the karaoke. hopefully people who hear it would like the song, too.

I've never done karaoke. But I will be warbling off key for the next three days at the country music conference. We play instruments (or a reasonable facsimile), so karaoke is totally unnecessary. On top of that, a lot of the songs we sing will never be found in any karaoke list of songs.

Oh well as long as you're singing your heart out that's still good. I can't play musical instruments so I am quite a karaoke person. I wish I could learn some instruments though.

I had never done karaoke until recently. A friend of ours turns his shop into one twice a month and it was a lot of fun.

Indeed. I want to buy my very own karaoke machine or magic sing here so I don't have to pay the karaoke bar.
