Are You Organized?

My daughter was scouring the house for her bus pass yesterday when getting ready to go to the doctor.. I don't know how many times, maybe close to one million, I have suggested that my daughter put all important items like library cards, debit cards, ID's, bus passes, birth certificates, SS cards, rings, and miscellaneous other important things she has spent hours searching for down through the years now in one designated place. Geesh!! This is just one small thing that goes on here. I am a very organized person and my daughter is just the opposite. Drives me nuts! You can bet she keeps track of her cigarettes(most of the time) and lighter.
Are you an organized person?

My father was super organized and I inherited it from him. An example, when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given a year to live he got all his financial records up to date, he wrote his obit, he did everything he could to make it easier on us. By the way, he only lived 6 weeks after the diagnosis.

My mom was the same way. She taught me to do math in my head and all that good stuff that helps in the world. Your dad sounds like quite a person.

@AbbyGreenhill ...So did I thanks to my mother. She fed four people, and well, for $15 a week back in the 60's. She taught me pretty well. Parents can be great can't they?

@celticeagle Yes he was, he was the oldest son of a poor strawberry farmer who went on to college then the army as an officer and worked his way up, plus was associate dean of a college. I never did have that much ambition, but I did learn the value of money.

I'm very unorganized no matter how hard I try. I was never taught nor given the chance to be responsible for picking up after myself or keeping things neat growing up. Rather than having the patience to let me clean up after myself, my mom would just shove me out of the way and do it herself. I try to work on it today but I always seem to fail.

Impatience huh? I was messy when young but have learned to be tidier and organized over the years.

@celticeagle Extremely impatient. I am staying with her now until my fiance and I get a place and she would still rather do it than let me.

@celticeagle It's still organized. I intend to keep the next place organized and clean when I move. I know I'm a procrastinator, but I'm working on changing that as well.

Hmmm, is your husband like you? I mean organized. If not, then your daughter got his genes . . . Just kidding.

I'm somewhat organized. My important files, anything to do with ID's I have them in folders and I keep them in drawers. Actually I learned to be organized because of my friend. My family is quite opposite they seem to misplace things. I'm glad that I wouldn't have to worry about finding my important documents or whichever in that case.

But what if you lived with someone who wasn't organized at all? Drives me crazy.
