All Good Things Come To An End

@LadyDuck That's understandable , you must rest first . How hot is it there . Here it is 32 to 34 degrees celcius .

@SIMPLYD It was 28º degrees Celsius last Friday when we had the walk near the lake. Today it rains, we must be around 24.

I am still recovering,it's great to have guests, but it's a lot of work. The weather was beautiful, but very hot, this is the reason why the sky was not blue, the haze from the lake due to the heat.

We were lucky to have nice weather from Thursday through Saturday, only yesterday it was a bad day.

@LadyDuck wow. it's because you do them all the traditional way with fresh and original ingredients. how about dessert?

@hereandthere I made tiramisu, puff pastries with custard filling, a chocolate mousse and a Black Forrest cake.

I mainly prepared Italian dishes, that is what he likes. Spaghetti Carbonara, spaghetti al pesto, saltimbocca (is a dish made of veal topped with prosciutto and sage and cooked in butter), chicken breaded cutlets and avocado and shrimps... a lot of work.

I am not sure I ever did something to leave my mark behind, but I believe it's better not to leave a mark than to leave a bad mark.

We both needed a break, but now I am glad to be back to my daily routine.

@LadyDuck It does feel good when things get back to normal. Hm, what's that like, anyway I have a lot of packing to do, normal will be when the unpacking is finished.

We were lucky to have 3 sunny days, only Sunday we had severe thunderstorms, we played at home.

@fishtiger58 We also had a wet spring. It is raining from Sunday morning, right now I hear the thunder again and it pours.

@LadyDuck We have actually had almost a week now with no rain. It has been a wet spring here.

@valmnz I have discovered a nice little bar that has a library available for the client, now I know that he will like to go there.

We have spent a pleasant day and also visited a botanical park. I told to my husband that we should go more often, it's only 20 minutes from home.

I enjoyed the visit, except the too much cooking, but I did not want to deceive a friend who wanted some specific Italian dishes.

I love those small villages on the shores of the lake, we plan a visit to Basel in a few months.

@sueznewz2 I have never visited Basel, we have been to Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Luzern, but never Basel.

I missed you too, but I was so busy cooking and cleaning that in the evening I was exhausted.

@Inlemay I am still doing laundry, the bed sheets, the napkins, the towels. The bedroom is already cleaned and ready for another guest.

You are right, we are so busy trying to see distant places that we forget that there are beautiful places just around the corner.

@ria1606roy I knew this saying, we studied Rabindranath Tagore when I was in school. Thanks for mentioning, I surely never read the original version.

@LadyDuck We have a saying depicting that in Bengali, written by the great poet Rabindranath Tagore. "dekhite giyachhi porbotmala dekhite giyachhi sindhu dekha hoy nai chokshu meliya ghor hote shudhu dui pa pheliya ekti ghasher shisher upor ekti shishir bindu…" Meaning "We used to travel to mountains and oceans to witness their beauty, but we haven't seen the beauty of the dew drops on the grass just a few steps outside our home..."

I was born in the north of Italy, not too far from the border of Switzerland, this is a place I have always loved.

@CRK109 I suppose it was the Lake of Como, it's just 5 Km from the Swiss border and 10 Km from our home. It's where George Clooney has his villa. Here is a view of the lake, we go quite often.

@LadyDuck I've visited northern Italy and I loved it up there! Our first night was spent overlooking a gorgeous lake and I always thought it would be a perfect honeymoon spot! How I'd love to go back!

It was a great time, but I am glad to be back to my normal life, I missed my online friends.

@crystalvisions I have visited your profile and I have read about your visit to your family. It will be hard to go back to the Scottish weather.

@LadyDuck I am indeed! I have family in Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai as well as other places. I had to visit for business purposes and managed to extend my stay. Of course I am always welcomed but as a general rule I rarely visit India just before the monsoon season in June/July. The huge irony is that I am Scottish and live in Scotland. Therefore I come from a place that is cold and wet; so whenever school holidays in the UK start, it's at the start of June & July; previous visits to India when I was a child were not that nice given the monsoon season!

When we went there on Friday it was so hot that there was haze in the air, it's a shame not to have a blue sky.

@LadyDuck same here. it's actually (humid) when the sky isn't clear.

@hereandthere It was very hot and the lake creates humidity when it's too hot.

I agree Judy, it was at least more than two years that we thought to visit there and we never found the time to go.

We almost never go to visit those nice little villages around the lake, it's still a good time before the school close for the summer vacations.
