To be more clear its my profession with which I m dissatisfied. I don't know why but I never found my profession very interesting and exciting. As I was good in studies ,gave exam, got selected in college and then completed my college but now though I earn but still I find something missing and my unhappiness has started to reflect in my personality.Downside of all this is that I don't even know what other career I should have chosen. What would have made me happy? Is this thinking even right? Is this all in my thoughts? My mother told me it is easier said than done and I m being ungrateful .I have got something and I am not appreciating it.If not this what would I do?This is the question that haunts me as I don't know its answer.

I hope you'll be able to find the answer to all your questions. It's difficult to deal with disappointments and dissatisfaction.

Well, it is true that we often don't appreciate things that we have until we lose it. But when it comes to career if you feel unsatisfied, then it means you are not in the right track. Anyone can earn but it is importantg to have job satisfaction. We are not born to just pay bills.

Well firstly you should see if you are happy with the job you are in. Then secondly you should feel grateful of the life and the people you have got. Many don't have such a life even. You should be proud of who you are as a person and should thank and feel grateful of all the people who have made a difference in your life. Thirdly , you should and must take out time for your friends and family to just talk and enjoy with them. Then you should do something that you love to do in your spare time more offenly. Read this post as well it may help you a little for the 2nd point:
Gratitude means being thankful or grateful to everything around you.People are generally happier when they have gratitude in their hearts. We cannot be bitter,...

Seems you have recently passed your exam and are still new to your work place, If that is the case give it some time. If you are certain that you are not meant to do what you are doing then sooner or later you are going to leave. It is better you start understanding yourself and then take a calculative decision. Changing careers is definitely easier said than done . Be sure about your destination then go on the road and not otherwise.

Just leave this job and join the one you love. Another option is be happy in what you have. If both are not working consult a psychiatrist. Or try developing some hobby which interests you.

I also don't feel satisfied at this point of time. I do earn more than the regular jobs in my city. I know what I really wanted to do. That is, to work in an international NGO.

I have been in the same profession now for 22 years and I have been with my company for 17 years. Yes, there are bad days, yes sometimes it is long hours, but I look at my profession and I look at my company and feel that it could be a lot worse.
