The Olympics are coming

I have always looked forward to the different Olympics held every 4 years. I like both the summer ones and the winter ones. I am so amazed at how young some of the athletics are and the things they can do. With all the problems in the world today, it is so refreshing to see all the nations competing side by side. I am interested to see all the shots of Rio as I was there many years ago.

I love the Olympics and look forward to watching them as well, and learning about Brazil, one of the highlights of the Olympics that just fascinates me. I love learning the cultures and seeing the country in a way only the Olympics can bring it to us. Without government prejudice or interference. It's all about the athletes and their country.

@ramapo17 Yes there are, and I wonder who will emerge on the world stage this summer and I wonder what records will be broken.

I hope the media focuses on the athletes and the games and all their physical accomplishments, and not on Rio's rampant pollution, shantytowns, mistreatment of poor people, Brazil's collapsing economy, or the Zika virus. When I tune in this summer, I want to enjoy the games, not a lesson in sociology and politics!

@ramapo17 I just hope the media focuses on the good things Brazil has to offer, and not spend all their time pointing out the bad. Every city and country has issues, but I don't think the Olympics is the proper venue to publicize a country's problems to the world!

@moffittjc You know they always show a lot of things about the country whether we like it or not. This won't happen again for them for many years and they want to get all the publicity in they can.

I enjoy watching summer olympics. Athletes do start at a very young age. They have an age requirement for that.

It's excited to watch Olympics. there are lots of great stories we can talk after each game. These heros and stories encourage us in many aspects.
