I love food.
Homemade or from the street shop around the corner. All's well. I can enjoy a crispy tea biscuit with equal relish as I would do an exquisite 7 star meal. Food has been my strength and weakness. When I travel I love to have the local cuisine and not 'stay safe' with Indian food.
I have never been fussy with food so everybody loves to cook for me. I update them with genuine compliments and suggestions. My friends know that if they invite me there will be no wastage of ordered food. Yes, i take that as a compliment.
My favorite comfort food is 'Biriyani'
The simplest way to make biriyani is to take your pressure cooker ...heat some oil ...saute sliced onions and tomatos..put in ginger garlic paste... some indian masala and spices ...salt ...green chillies...then add veggies/chicken/fish/prawns....finally some raw rice...pour some water to just cover the contents...close your cooker and give it 2-3 whistles...and you have lovely indian biriyani
Ps. I haven't put the measures... for the more you experiment, the more tasty it gets every time

It really doesn't matter much because people tweak the recipes to suit their needs if they are out of something they substitute if they are allergic to something they won't add it endless number of reasons that people tweak a recipe but I think what really matters us if you have the basic ingredients

@buzzg3 Baking is different its more a science like chemistry lol. It is why I like to cook more than bake cooking you can alter it and its not a big deal with baking one change and it can be a disaster. I like to decorate the cakes. Put flowers and stuff on it. Makes you feel like a cross between baker and kid.

This is good to know. I live in the US and one of my favorite types of foods is Indian food. I am a fan of paneer dishes - Paneer Makhani, Palak Paneer - but I have never yet had Biriyani. I have heard of this though. It sounds very good. Do you use curry spice? Or is "masala" a spice? I'm so clueless. Lol. Welcome to MyLot by the way!

Super maezee ! Paneer is yummy...I Love Paneer Makhani too....You should try Paneer Tikka ....Using the curry spice should be fine I think...Masala is another name for a combination of spices....Thanks Maezee! It feels like family in here ...Tell me how the biriyani turned out

I love food too though I don't like to cook. I love to eat and enjoy foods from different parts of the world. I also like quick microwaveable food. I enjoy eating out at restaurants, fast food, junk food, and some healthy food. I also love to drink water and citrus flavored drinks. I like to eat with others and alone and at home too.

I like to eat but would never consider myself a foodie. I like pretty normal stuff and very rarely reach outside of my food "comfort zone" to try new foods.

@buzzg3 I'm so picky though. If a food has a taste I don't like it makes me gag and..well... get sick. That leaves out so many dishes. Anything with onions or peppers has that effect on me. Just the SMELL of broccli makes me gag. I'm bastically stuck with meat and potatoes. lol

@nonersays Gee! That's sad....most of our indian dishes have onion as the base...but you shouldn't worry...try to find out more of meat and potato dishes where ever you go..they are universally accepted main courses ..
