This morning, the fragrance of this national flower of my country was so overwhelming that I took the cutter of my sister from the drawer and started cutting some of these flowers from the bushes.
Before distributing these flowers in the altar and at my parents’ photos, I decided to take a picture. So here it is - a bouquet of the white flowers named sampaguita. I think a perfume is made from these flowers.
As you can see in the picture, it was 6:15AM when I brought inside the house, these flowers. The smell is making our house so fragrant, overpowering the pees of these dogs.
Do you like the smell of this flower? I better check on Google what the name of this flower is, and it is named Arabian Jasmine

these flowers were planted by the green thumb of my late mother, and the bush is blooming many flowers of sampaguita. i hope you can buy a twig of this flower; it needs little care like watering it.

@ridingbet I love the fresh fragrant smell of flowers. It's when they turn it into perfume that it can be really overpowering.

Yes, I love the smell of this flower. Last year, we bought a small sampaguita plant and I planted it on a pot. The petals are not like those on the picture. Ours only has single petals.

so, what you have is the single-petaled sampaguita, right? their fragrance is not like these ones we have, and i think those single-petaled are called jasmine?

it does, and so are the flowers they sell multi-petaled? single petaled sampaguita flowers have a mild scent.

@Shavkat yes it is spooky. incidentally, today is also the 7th year since i brought my mother o the hospital. she left us on the 13th of June 2009. and yes, when we smell a lit-candle and roses, her spirit might be here in our house

@ridingbet There are some big butterflies coming in and out of the house. I know my father is at peace. Perhaps he randomly visits us.

When I still live in Manila, Street children would rush to cars stop by the red traffic signal light to sell their Sampaguita leis. I was quite young then, It was during the late 1960's. Most of the time my father would buy some for the altar at home.

some children also sell sampaguita, the single-petaled, as garlands for the altar, and we tell them that we have a bush of these flowers.
