Thinking about quitting BOOZE completely after having too much of it for a few days

June 9, 2016 7:03am CST
I just realized this morning that drinking BOOZE doesn't help anything. A very good friend is right. After having too much of it, I will still wake up with the same problems. So I will totally quit the thing. I will mark my calendar and see how far I can go. My motivation is my future. I am almost 40 but still hopeful. I am still considering about moving to Mom's soon, very very soon. At least for a change in the environment. Anybody else here who completely left BOOZE? Or even smoking? Thanks mylot people.

I know your struggle. I haven't personally taken up drinking booze or smoking, but my mother and many of my friends have had to throw in the towel when it came down to choosing the best lives. I congratulate you on your goal. It's not going to be easy, but with determination and the future in mind, I have no doubt that you will be able to beat the temptation to drink. It's never too late to change.

I did both--stopped drinking January 21, 1981--haven't had a sip since then---stopped smoking 9 years ago and being around people who smoke doesn't bother me. It was a question of not talking about it but just doing it!

I had quit drinking for more than 5 years now. It seems too difficult to stop, but it is not.
