Hey folks O'Kennedy here again. How is everyone doing? So I wanted to talk a little more about traveling. Traveling is something some of us dream about doing and actually I think a lot less of us actually get a chance to do. Those of us who do well some of us only travel within the country and that is okay with me. I want to see other parts of the world but first I want to see this country first. I have a plan to make the travel a pleasant experience for everyone. I have taken into account everyone's needs and wants. I have a list and I have prioritized it starting with the most needed to the least needed of the stuff. House not apartment, public transportation, schools, doctors, shopping. Find utility companies and find out what is required for me to be able to turn the utilities on. Also finding out what the cost of living is I find it gives me a sense of what areas are affordable to us but also granting the things we need. We have looked into hotels we can stay at for a reasonable price for an extended stay. Staying for a bit will allow us time to look at the potential rentals. Which I will schedule to be done a few days after our arrival. Timing is another key element of traveling. We are looking to go to a place where we don't know anyone. Moving to a place where you don't have friends and family make things a little more difficult. So I have planned it to be during the summer so that we have plenty of time to get situated. Saving this is a little tougher but not impossible. I have chosen what things we can do without and how much we are going to save by doing away with services we don't absolutely need. IE: Shipping program we can purchase stamps like everyone else by the books at grocery stores. Which will save us $524.00 Yard Sales we will be having plenty of those to raise money and get rid of things we don't need, want or use. This will bring in a nice chunk of change we have lots of stuff. I have shared a few things and hope to hear any tips you may be willing to share in respects on how to travel, move and save. If you have a question those are welcome too. Thanks for listening(reading) folks.

i used to not like traveling very much. i only travel once a year before but thats going back home, not a tour or something like that. now i realized that it might be fun to travel (on my own) to a place (preferrably abroad or tourist spots) i have never been at least once a year. im not saving for it yet but its now part of my bucketlist.

More and more people I speak to are saying that traveling is on their bucket list. Even if it is only within the country. When I ask where they would like to go and why? They often name off places like Arizona ,Grand Canyon, NY, Statue of Liberty or Wyoming ,Old Faithful. However when I think about it I feel a little disappointed thinking wow if you take that one great thing I otherwise wouldn't have much interest in visiting.

@MGjhaud yes you are right figure out what you would like to see and then where it is located. How much it would cos to travel there through the different methods of transportation. Figure out living arrangements when you plan to go and then figure out how much you have to save up each month to make it happen, Then see how you can change your spending and saving habits to be able to make your trip possible.

It's good that you're thinking through all these options. Is it possible to house-sit or swap houses with another family for a while? We are hoping we might be able to do this but there is only two of us. It might be more difficult with children.

I think at first we would sign the shortest least possible on a rental. It would let us get a chance to see what areas we want to stay at permanently and then find a place with an option to buy in the area we want to live in.

@JudyEv now lets just hope it all works out as planned which we all know that it usually doesn't which is why you have a back up plan and a back up for the back up so that you don't leave anything to chance.

Yes that is a huge downside of moving or traveling. If you are moving its almost the same as if you have always been that far and visit once a year. That special set amount of time comes to and end and it becomes sad.
