Do you ever think of it. The boy should play with others rather than reading a book in bed. Are they too young to read? Or by now they should play.more. How you treat your young boy?

I have always taught my children to love and respect books and have let them learn to read as soon as they were able and ready to do so. No age is too young once they show the willingness to learn. It doesn't actually seem to me that this child is actually reading. He is probably looking at the colourful pictures and possibly pretending to read 'like a grownup', as children very often will do.

This would depend on the individual child because some like to read and others like to play.

Its depend on parents how they are grooming him. by the way there is no harm in reading books provided allowing him to play and maintaining his timetable

I don't have children because I am unmarried. But I think Playing and reading both are necessary for a young boy.

Reading is good, at least let him try. And help him of course, if he needs help.

I don't understand the question :D - "Are they too young to read?" That's like asking if they're too young to eat and drink and poop. Mine have always been encouraged to read. My eldest isn't that interested and never has been (although he's perfectly capable) but the youngest could read before he went to nursery and now he's almost 12, reading is his second favourite pastime (after computer games, of course!) My youngest has never really been one for playing but I'm not going to stop him reading. It bothers me sometimes when 3, 4, and 5 year olds are learning 'how to use a book' as in knowing which way round it goes, how to turn the pages not throwing it or ripping it, etc. This is why children who can read end up falling behind waiting for their peers to learn something they should already know.

Children are never too young too read...but you got to see that they don't tear the book. Even if they don't know how to read they enjoy looking at the pictures and having a grown up read aloud to them.

I think they should act their age. There is no exact age for learning but kids should be kids.

There is no harm in having an inclination towards reading at an early age and should rather be encouraged. Playing also forms an crucial part of a child's life and both the activities have their own way of contributing towards a child's development. In my opinion, there shouldn,t be any comparison made as such.

May be good for the mind to grow and think.
