A Tornado Warning

When I woke up in the morning it was very dark outside and just did not look normal.
All of a sudden we started having heavy rain and wind and the next thing we know the town sirens are going off.
Now we have heard them on Wednesdays when they do their weekly test but we soon found out this was no test.
On TV they broke in and said we were in a Tornado warning area and the way it was outside we decided to take the animals and go down in the basement with our cell phones and a bottle of water.
It was pretty scarey with the way it looked outside.
Now we understand that in the town there are lots of trees down as of right now I don't know what other damage was done.
I was supposed to go to the viewing this evening but I will not be able to go.
We are still under a tornado watch.
The funeral is tomorrow but I won't be going to that.
I will remember Marsha as the way she was the last time we had lunch together.

Wow, that had to be pretty scary for you! I actually got caught in a tornado once driving home from work. I sensed that things were getting ugly quick so I pulled my truck into a Taco Bell and ran inside. The employees grabbed me and dragged me back into the storage room just as the tornado hit the building. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the restaurant was destroyed.

@moffittjc
It was pretty scary but not as scary as what happened to you when you were in your truck.

It is strange how a tornado can take only part of a building and not do other damage. Glad you were not injured and thankfully your truck was fine also.

@Marcyaz Being huddled up in a storage room, I didn't get to witness much as the tornado hit, but it was heartbreaking to walk out of the storage room a few minutes later and see the roof and the windows of the Taco Bell completely gone. Still not sure how the walls remained standing, but thankfully they did or I would have been a goner. And thankfully, no damage to my truck either!

I hope that tornado does not hurt anyone or animal, I've never been in one but I'd be scared silly if I were near an area that got them.

Fortunately tornadoes almost never happen in this part of the country. I have been in places where there were tornadoes touch down not too far away. I haven't actually seen one up close and personal. Hope you stay safe.

Very much so especially when you see your outdoor things starting to fly away.

@Iam_jauntyjen
Wow that is a lot of typhoons to have to go through and would be just as scary as a tornado I would think.
