I'm a Frustrated Athlete

Standing five feet six inches in height, I'm taller than the average Filipina so I should have been top pick when it comes to forming volleyball and basketball teams. But unfortunately, my limbs have a mind of their own so they don't seem to obey what my brain dictates. I am so clumsy I can't even ride a bike. I have this rotten sense of balance I never learned to do things that require balance.
I feel like I've missed out on the fun all sporty people experience. I don't know how to swim. My parents and husband are all good swimmers and they've all given up teaching me. It's so frustrating since I know swimming is an essential skill one must learn.
In every volleyball lessons I had back in high school, I couldn't answer a volley with my arms. The ball seemed to aim at my face, my legs, anywhere but my ears. Totally incredulous. So during practice, I get the loudest cheer (louder than most star players get) everytime miraculously managed to hit the ball right and make it land at the desired location.
I wonder if there are people as clumsy as me and if there are, did they dream to be an athlete once in their lives and like me had decided to focus on other things instead?

Yeah. I know I can do things others can't. I'm still proud of myself even if I'm lacking in some areas. Just wondering sometimes...
