New Work: New Stress

I finally had the courage to let go of my AIN job to focus on nursing. And it's my 4th day of doing it. The pay is considerably really high. But everyday is a hurdle and a stress for me. As I get thrown to different hospitals and wards everyday. Everything is a hurdle. The environment is always different. Routines are different and people are different. Today I just felt so worn out that I am actually thinking of "stopping nursing". Along the way I meet good people who are there to help and then there's also some bullies. I pray that God will grant me more nice people in the days to come. And I pray that I will be an effective nurse not only for myself but for my patient.

it seems you have to be a fast learner and very flexible not just with the place and its procedures, but also the staff and patients.

I was actually gaining a bit of confidence in my third day but today was just too much for me to handle.

I'm definitely not used to it and it's very different from my Philippine experience. Such culture shock for me. And the machines are not helping.

Just love your new career,be happy and enjoy what you are doing.A nurse is not just a profession,it's a vocation so be passionate. If you have that passion in your chosen field/path you'll have a great time. Stress, hardships and whatever negative vibes is part of it, so just live with it coz later on you will get used to it.Be strong, keep the faith!

being nurse is a noble job. The salary i s just secondary, just think of the good things you can do to your patients. Stress is always there in every work, I hope you will be able to adjust and enjoy your job eventually.

It is a noble job and I want to be someone who is good for my patients. I worry that I still lack experience and competence to save lives. I hope I can adjust soon.

I am sorry to hear about your struggles. Changes can be difficult sometimes. If you love nursing then you can do your best to persevere until it gets easier or you can find something more consistent. I pray that your faith will see you through. My faith is very important to me too. Nursing is such an important job. A good one is priceless. You deserve to do something you feel good about and the patients benefit too. I wish you all the best and good luck to you.
