Babies are going to cry, that's what they do. Parents who don't seem to care, or yell at the baby for crying, are much more annoying.

It used to until I had a child of my own. Now it just makes me think "uh oh! someone wants to eat! or be changed!" etc. Stupid mom instinct.

I love babies. It doesn't irritate me when strangers' babies cry in public, because I totally understand. It does bother me when my own babies cry, though - because I am anxious to quiet them as I do not wish to irritate others.

It depends on the situation. If a baby (or child or adult person for that matter of fact) is crying because they are in agony or pain, I don't have a hard time with it. Also, it's a babies only way to utter uncomfort or to make clear they need something.
However, is a baby (or child, adult, etc) is crying because they are mad or trying to get their way by just being annoying and hard to work with, I really can't stand it. Yes, babies can be very dominant and demanding too, allthough 90% of the time they cry for a good reason.
The cries of agony, pain and discomfort also sound different from angry cries; the last ones are a lot louder and more high pitched.
