There was a reason why I lost my mood yesterday and chose to relax a bit after doing my laundry, a mild earth quake. I was supposed to sleep early until I felt relentless shaking. I left my room and wait for the shaking to stop, but then I forgot that my mom and grandma was sleeping still .
But I'm glad the shake stopped, but I couldn't get any sleep after that. So, I just play PC games and then slept. I realized that night I was never prepared for real earthquake, the house could have brought down and we could have died in this house.

Well, it is still a mild after shock. Way back in 1990, the city of Pines had a strong earthquake. It was a tragic experience for the local people. In some point, it affects my sleeping habit. I get easily awaken with slight shake or sounds that it may hear.

@acelawrites During that time, we really need to run out from the house. We are living in an old house and we have this fear that might collapse. Since I am living in the city of Pines. I had seen houses falling to the cliff.

@Shavkat hope the big quake in manila won't happen, i just can't imagine the amount of people that will die and become homeless in an instant.

I can't forget that July 16 quake. We were in a building in Makati City, so we hid under the table.

I never thought there was a ground shaking last night. It was really scary then. But maybe it was just very mild or I was just being too tired last night that I was not able to feel it? This morning and afternoon, we did an earthquake drill for the teachers and kids. We decided that we will be doing it once a month so to practice the students on what they need to do once the earthquake happen. I hope it will not happen.

@Letranknight2015 Actually, we do the earthquake drill once every year. But this school year, the school wants to practice the students once a month.

Maybe they did felt that quake which forced you there to have drills, they won't do much drills if there was no recent quakes @annierose

@Letranknight2015 So you don't have emergency exit? . Well, is it possible to do something about it in preparation?. that would give you all some peace of mind at least .. But let's hope that there won't be anything catastrophic happening ..

@epiffanie These days I don't want to assure myself that there's not going to be an earth quake here. that shake really gave me a wake up call. if the only entrance here gets a cave in we got no way out if we go up we'd be tangled with wires from the electrical post.

@Letranknight2015 Yeah, it would be helpful if we have that in our house... I'm not sure if we have that here but in Japan they have that.

I dread earthquakes.I live in a 2 story house, but my room is the only bedroom that is in the first floor. And it has a door to run out to the garden with the first shake.

@Letranknight2015 My house was built by my husband absolutly quake proof. All cables are underground and I can run to a piece of garden where nothing will fall over my head.

Finland is a country with no deadly earthquakes thats why they have underground cities now. I wish I can live there and feel safe. I always worry about natural and manmade disasters on this country.

yepperz, ya need a game plan 'n share such with family. e'en a meetin' place if'n such occurs ('r floodin'..fire...) 'n y'all aint all't home.

The worst part is that we have only ONE escape route @crazyhorseladycx if that falls off we can never get off the house. except that we got stairs we could go to other neighbors house but that's just critical. I should watch more earthquake drill videos

whenever you sense an earthquake you should move out of your house along with others. Do not do it again. Do not leave others inside but take them out along with you.

@Letranknight2015 yes. By the time we sensed it we all came out of our house with a big run. There were some in nearby houses who kept themselves in. I went and also sent some others asking them to come out of their houses at once.

This can be very scary if it happens to me. Fortunately it was just a little earthquake for you. Last night I watched a documentary about Tsunami in 2004. It was so horrible and it happened after the earthquake. Hopefully such kind of disaster will not happen again.

Didn't feel the earthquake last night. Haven't heard any news about it until I came across your post. Anyway, the city-wide earthquake preparedness drill seemed to come at a very convenient time today.

To be honest @Letranknight2015 i really feel that nothing can prepare us fully for an earthquake especially those really powerful ones. Its natural to panic and loose control
