MyLot on my mind

Something strange is happening to my thought process.
They seem to be heading towards this particular place I discovered around three weeks back.
Not consciously, no not at all.
I still go around doing my daily business of living.
There’s lots to do.
College and counseling . Cooking and cleaning . Chores . Calling up family and travelling . Celebrations and family visits.
In the midst of all these activities a particular chain of thought creeps in unintentionally directing itself to the site on my desktop.
It’s like this, the bright red china roses that greet me next to my classroom are suddenly the avatars of two folks who dwell in that place. So are the next door kittens. And the horse picture in my neighbour’s living room.
The expression "The cat's whiskers" has taken on a whole new meaning.
The Botany department people are talking of their project of producing organic manure…I start reflecting on begonias , red roses, petunias and bee balm. And the butterfly on flowers that makes for happiness.
I work in the kitchen and look out on the last of my laburnums that I love...."see you next year " , I say and "from now on I'm going to call you by your new name with which you've been christened from across the globe ...golden rain."
I open my fridge door to take out the milk in the morning. Today my eyes are directed at the few magnets stuck there. Why am I thinking of a certain Venice mask one and a rule to revisit the ‘Port of Magnet’ if one of them gets broken?
Last weekend when I sat and watched a couple of movies with my husband. One had England as the locale and the other Greece and Turkey. I wonder if the traveler through Turkey and the residents (especially a special one) walked the streets shown on the screen.
I told my husband” this is a date “ , because friend let us know she would be dating like this later on.
Odd as it may seem, I saw a family wheeling and loading a sewing machine on to the train last weekend. Wasn’t it only a couple of days ago there was this ‘discussion’ on sewing machines…Coincidences???
I take down my Mary Higgins Clark book , musing whether C S has finished his .The Le Carre books on my shelf , gets my mind directed to JH who listed Carre as an author he likes
The bamboo groves that dot the country side and flash past through my train window makes me reflect on another gardener whose garden has been invaded by bamboo shoots and slugs.
The young boy who has recently joined my workplace asks me if I know of a place he can rent. As I give him a few directions , I contemplate that we are keeping our fingers crossed in another house hunting episode.
A colleague who is about to leave for a seminar chats about the outfits she is thinking of taking with her. Isn’t this just like the post about the matching outfit for the end of the year party, like a flash the thought crosses my mind .
Another friend talks about a wedding coming up in their family. The boy and girl are from different communities but the families have met and now its 'arranged' to everyone's satisfaction."I've been there', I smile inwardly as I think of the huge discussion I participated in.
They say it’s hard to make friends as you grow older and I never thought I would do so .
But I guess life teaches you to expect the unexpected.
So here I am in this new place with people who were kind enough to welcome me warmly.
And it’s all thanks to the girls Maud and Daisy.
They may be silly. But I like them, really. Because , they led me to you.

@crazyhorseladycx @ jaboUK Thank you Thank you.
I just woke up to a chorus of frogs who went on and on throughout the dawn and there it was again....my mind rushed off to the frog that came for dinner :)
Also please do look up the edited version of my post, because there was one thing I wanted to put in and didn't...:)
The gals are the 'Silly Girls' ...TAG the discussion, they were the first post I read on this site and got hooked (!) on to.
I'm rather proud of working on that picture myself. You see I would depend on hubby and kids for these things but now I'm venturing out, on my own.
Big Hugs to you'll too.

I see that you was thinking to my garden while looking through the train window. Now the bamboo is under control. I have fond the two invading roots, cut them from the main plant and removed them. I am also winning my battle against the slugs. The temperature is higher and it stopped raining, finally it's summer. I think to myLot all the day, no matter what I look I imagine if I can write something about it.

I have a few holes in leaves of my green pepper plant which is in a pot, and I asked someone at work what would cause that. They told me snails or slugs, so it appears that some have visited me this past month or so. I've looked underneath the leaf to see if anything is still around, but didn't find the pest.
When you've seen them in your plants are they on the plant or in the dirt, Anna? I'm not really sure how to look or where to look, or whether they've done their damage and have left now.
Sorry, @responsiveme if I've sort of hijacked this post. This won't go on and on at all.

You do have much on your mind it seems! Lovely point for point of your life and living today. This is my favourite magnet from Venice - I had one similar from my first visit and my grandson broke it - he was so fascinated with it that he grabbed it. My hubby took me back to Venice so luckily I have another one - but this one is higher on the fridge and I have secured it a little better.

This is a thoughtful and interesting reflection on the myLot community and how it occurs to us through the day as we go about our other business.

I can see how myLot is on your mind as each of those scenarios is similar to what people talk about on their posts. The globe has shrunk to virtual reality on the computer screen in front of us and we laugh and cry and help each other with tips and ideas to do such and such. I'm glad you were eventually led here where you can discuss to your hearts content about each of those topics covered here.

It seems that you have been thinking a lot. And you did so much reflections. So many ideas running and I love your flow of words. I do also remember about the post on sewing machines as I responded on that as well. I wonder who is Maud and Daisy. Maybe very close friend of yours?

@responsiveme Sorry.
You have a lot on your mind but you can write about it which is so great! Happy for you. When we are able to share our stuff and get feedback from other people it can be helpful ... specially if we think about other things to write as we go no living. At least I think that is what happens?

Sites like MyLot can be addictive drawing us in causing us to stay (or perhaps overstay) our welcome. They are also reflective of life, how many times to people comment about something you have just seen on your journey across town. I think this shows haw people, despite their distinct locations have very similar problems or challenges in life. You are right how one thing we hear about seems to trigger similar events close to us.

@pgiblett excuse me for asking but on a positive note this is proof that I do follow you but don't always follow you? What is creed colour? I understand creed to be about a set of beliefs. How does it relate to colour?
Also you wrote something I was trying to understand. (perhaps overstay our welcome) that could actually hurt my feelings except maybe you meant something other than what I was thinking which was more on the line of computer time allegation on the big brother machine.

@responsiveme Yes it is true that human nature is the same everywhere. Irrespective of nationality, race, creed, colour or religion we are driven by common goals. This is, in my view, what make MyLot and other social sites so successful.

You mean, the common human factor.
Miss Marple used to say that human nature was much the same everywhere and solved her mysteries sitting at home.
I hope I don't overstay my welcome

@DianneN ,thing is usually I get my husband and kids to do the computer stuff for me but now being on my own I have to. ...necessity being the mother of 'discovering how to'
I pasted the photo from pixabay onto the paint software and then worked on it, writing in the words in the empty bubbles.....after some fumbling I got through, .......more luck than anything I guess

You did an excellent job with both your thought bubble, image and with the way your new mylot friends intertwined with your life in the various way. While reading, I was thinking of Janet's limericks, and this caused me to wonder who all you might be writing about.
I saw your request for a read on Marie's, Marlina's beebalm post just now.

Thank you. did you find yourself in the above discussion? You are right there you know.
my love of literature is inherited from ma, she used to teach English in college.
I hope I teach maths OK ,otherwise my poor students will have a bad time if my love of literature comes out in maths class
