It's not my promise: its the promise of the incoming administration Duterte and service provider like the Globe Telecom and Smart Communications.
That remains to be seen. Promise are made to be broken. But I am really believing the Rody Duterte administration will give importance to this long been cry of the consumers. The Aquino administration just sit on this problem relying in the promise of this businessmen.
Lots of promos the internet company is advertising saying this would improve the online activity. What have it become. No change; minimal change. Big income for them.
Hope it will really come true... faster internet connection.

I hope there is a price drop too because some richer countries have cheaper internet than us, PLDT/smart and Globe are corrupt af.

I hope a bill will be passed requiring these ISPs to provide subscribers a minimum speed that is fast, like 3 MB to 5MB per second or even higher.
That is one of the reasons why these ISPs are not afraid of just giving a very poor connection speed. There is no law for this matter.

We would be so glad if it happens. But according to the news, one of the appointees to a communications dept. post was a former official of one of the leading internet service providers. So we hope he will put public interest rather than the interest of that company.

@ilocosboy Yes, but we do not know if he will still be beholden to that Giant telecoms co.

that is what we need, people who have background in tele-communications, just like the appointment of Ms. Lopez in the DENR.

There is no doubt that the internet is getting faster and faster. But the only way to get cheaper internet is to stick with th eplan that they set up.
