How often do you use public transport?

Traffic and pollution can be controlled only by using public transport. Public transport includes buses, trains, share cabs, metro tains etc.
Instead of buying own vehicle and crowding the roads and increasing pollution people should start using more public transport.
I use buses for most of the time.

People will be encouraged to use public or mass transport if these are efficiently ran. When mass transit is efficient and is timely at departures and arrivals, people will leave their private cars at home and patronize it in going to the office and school. In our case, we only use public transport in going to very far places.

Yes public transport should be as per schedule. Otherwise people switch to private travel, getting irritated by time waste due to waiting.

Sad but true..in metro cities like Delhi we have seen very unfortunate incidents. In silent hours like 10 pm to 6 am it is better for lone women to avoid public transport.

Great to know, that you use public transport more. Yes when there is more luggage we can prefer a private vehicle or get a taxi.

That's the best solution..however as you mentioned for long distances it won't be suitable. But for commuting small distances Like 3-4 kms it's best. Also good exercise

Yep, auto rickshaw, is most common mode of transport here. We have both sharing and hire Auto. But some of the auto drivers are rash and cheat also. We need to be careful

yes. you are right. Earlier I was using it. It is quite safe also. I have seen many people driving a big car without any family or members inside. Can't they use any other medium of transport if public transports is not suitable for their status? Can't they use a private taxi? A taxi driver also will get a livelihood and the traffic jams will be minimum.

Yes we can book taxis online in phone. We can even share our ride. A big car for a single person is a bad idea

Yes there is waste of time. But traffic will be less, and pollution will be reduced.
Also it's cheap. So as much as possible we need to use public transport.
