Shopping online had its improvement through the years. Anything can be bought with the use of a gadget and an internet connection. You can name it and you can have it. Tangible things are fine to shop online. I am not sure for food. I know it is so convenient to avail things up online. Some people are starting to buy veggies, meat, seafood and the like through online. With this kind of services, I am pretty sure that the most of these are edible but it is not fresh. What do you think? Is it advisable to buy food online? Photo Credit: pixabay.com

Here shopping online has developed so fast and it is very popular. I often buy different things online, including the food. Normally I buy milk, spaghetti, cream and flour. It is OK without problems. As to the fastfood, I haven't bought it online although it is popular, too. Since there are many fastfood restaurants nearby my home, I prefer to go out to have it.

@Shavkat And I can also save the delivery fee. Sometimes I hate waiting for the delivery.

It is nice to walk and have some food in nearby restaurants. It is also good for exercising oneself.

I have never bought food online and won't do so as I wouldn't even know where to shop for food and I imagine it would not be fresh by the time I received it.

@Marcyaz That's also my concern. I have a friend across the country ordered a king crab. It was totally frozen and I am not sure if the taste is still good. As he described, I am sure it is not yummy.

@tech40 I heard there is always a delay of delivering the goods through ordering in a webpage.

I have bought a food item online usually when I can't find the particular brand I want in the store. Amazon.com has lots of food items for sale.

@Shavkat Yes, my Mom was hosting a party and one of the people could only eat gluten free. She wanted to make turkey stuffing. So, she went online to buy gluten free stuffing. She found it on Amazon. She said it cost a little bit more than a regular store but online was the only place she could find it.

I have a friend who sell fresh veggies from Baguio online. But they have a timeline of orders and delivery. AS for other kind of food like seafood, meat and the likes, I am not sure..... I would think thrice and more I think.

@Shavkat of course you will not hear about it because it is a guy from our neighborhood that sells that within the fb group page. probably he has a relative there in Baguio who will buy all the orders and will send it here to Manila. His deadline of order is wednesday and the delivery of veggies will be friday. its something like veggies on wheels... I think

I buy often from online supermarket delivery services. No reason at all why the food should be less fresh.

@Shavkat All the supermarket chains do it in the UK. It can work out cheaper than going to the store as you're less likely to be tempted to buy stuff you don't really need when shopping online.

We haven't yet. I heard from a friend. Some supermarkets in Manila do provide this kind of delivery services. I can only order the usual fast food locally located.

It depends, sometimes you get fresh stock online as well. But as per human tendency, we like to check the freshness before purchasing. So, I agree, its little difficut.

I would be worried about fresh or frozen food. I guess it depends how far it has to come to get to you and how it is transported.

I think it is fine to order locally. If the goods are from another country, I guess it is not that fresh enough to consume.

We order food from restaurant nearby, and we get it delivered at home fresh and hot. But personally I like to order food online only when we are getting late or not planned to eat at a restaurant. Otherwise we go and have food at restaurant.
