I had a blast last weekend. I ate my heart full. There was a Filipino festival in one suburb and me and my Filipino friends went there to pig out. It's just so nice to eat your native dish in a foreign country. It makes you feel closer to home.

Does it taste like Filipino dish? If I am in another country, I will also crave for it and eat a lot of Filipino dish or I will cook for myself.

There is an Asian Festival each February here and I enjoy sampling foods from various countries, but am never sure about what to order. Maybe a post about Filipino food varieties would be good?

Hi James there's too many to mention and posting about it would probably make me feel really hungry. If you must try chicken adobo. It's yum.

I often think people in a strange country must really long for something familiar from time to time.

Yes Judy. I even find myself eating things I usually don't eat back home here in Australia. Just to have a taste of home.

When I traveled to Israel for Holy Land pilgrimage, I missed my Indian food a lot. I ate Israeli food for 5 days. Then on the sixth day, when I went to Egypt as part of the tour to see the pyramids I found an Indian restaurant and I ate till my tummy was full. That was when I realized the importance of my Indian food. How is Filipino food? I heard it is a blend of native and European food? I would like to try. In India, besides Indian food, only Chinese and Thai food from Asia are popular.

I really love Indian food. There's plenty here in Australia. There's really something with food and culture and people's deep attachment to their native dishes. Filipino food is a blend of Spanish and Asian cuisines. With lots of soy sauce.
