I took my neices when they were 8 and 10 and today they are in Singapore and USA and they have taught their daughters, the songs of sound of music. I have with me the record (78 rpm). Hots off to the director and the music teacher and the children who acted in the movie.

I went to see it with my wife and my mom when it was first released. When Julie began to sing the first song, I laughed. And received an elbow from both sides!

"The hills are alive with the sound of music -- with songs they have sung for a thousand years. The hills fill my heart with the sound of music. My heart wants to sing every song it hears. "My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds that rise from the lake to the trees. My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies from a church on a breeze; to laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over stones on its way; to sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray. I go to the hills when my heart is lonely. I know I will hear what I've heard before. My heart will be blessed with the sound of music, and I'll sing once more."I was less than 10 when I first saw the movie and the above song is still in my memory - every word of it. I think it is the greatest film ever made.

I love this movie! Matter of fact, I am watching it right now. I was sitting here today thinking that it should be on this weekend as it is usually on Easter weekend and sure enough it is on right now so I am watching it right now.
When I was in high school, this was our school musical production my senior year. I played the part of a nun. That may be why I love the movie so much. However, it is such a great story that I can't imagine someone not watching it.

I love this movie very much. In fact I have grown up with this movie. I first watched it at school during a charity show. All the students had to pay ten cents to watch this movie. It was shown at our gathering hall. I like to listen to all of their songs. Their voices are so sweet. This is the best family movie and suitable for kids from all ages to watch. Until today, I still watch this movie. I've watched it so many times, and I even memorized some of the lines. Lol. This is definitely one of the greatest movie ever created.

Ever after! That's on the top list I've made! How could I forget that film.... It helps me to raise my spirit on facing every single day! Remember the lyric - when Maria went out from the abbet to the captain house: "What will this day be like? I wander... It could be so exiting..."
Oh My... thanks for this film colouring my life!

I loved the movie! in fact I first saw it in around 1968 - 69 when I went home for a 15 day vacation. It was so irresistable that I saw it 8 times in those hols!!
I have never seen any actress do the part so fittingly as Julie Andrews!! I give along side , a photo of her in a nun's dress in the same movie!
The songs too were enthralling!
It is truly an olden-goldie.

Yes very much...grew up singing the songs..here is the one I love the most:
he hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more
