Morning Bible Reading

There are times that I do read my Bible first before doing anything within the day and there are times that I cannot do it. But one thing that I do not forget everytime I wake up is to say a prayer of thanks and request for a guidance for the whole day. Do you read your Bible everyday in your morning? If not, do you read it before you go to bed?

Hi @ilocosboy! I do not regularly read the Bible. But this night while I was on my way home, I heard 2 students talking about the Bible and then, I tried to reflect on my own habit when it comes to reading the Holy Scriptures.

@IreneVincent Thanks Alice. I know I can really count on you when it comes to Bible matters. I have noticed it too when I responded on your previous posts.

@annierose There is a wonderful site that I trust, where you can read Bible-based articles on many subjects in your own language.
Be sure to look up the scriptures cited, in your own Bible.
What is God’s purpose? Learn when suffering will end and how paradise on earth will be restored in the future, as well as who will live in that paradise.

Not everyday, but the Bible is the ultimate guide in all situations actually. When I read it, I try to suck in all the information I can and apply it in real life. Also, when times are tough, I always read the Bible. Even seemingly random chapters can make more sense than anyone can imagine, so the Bible will always be my ultimate how-to guide.

Thanks @TopRear for sharing your thoughts on this. Sometimes, it is difficult for me to comprehend the Bible that I prefer those books that have Bible verses and situational examples related to those verses. I agree with you that Bible gives us certain energy especially during the tough times of our lives.

I know of a wonderful site that has Bible-based articles on many subjects that you might enjoy. Be sure to read the scriptures mentioned in the articles in your own Bible.
You can also read the articles in your own language if you prefer.

That is why having memory verses are important if you are Christian, it goes hand in hand with prayer.

Hi @louievill! I am not a Christian but I love their songs of praises. I also love to listen to them when they discuss about the Bible.

@annierose You said that you are not a Christian. May I ask what your religious preferences are?

@IreneVincent I am a Catholic. I do not have any religious preferences as I think it is not all about religion but it is all about our relationship with God.

Hi @LovingMyBabies! Yes, I do pray every day too. Prayer is a good way to start the day. It is also a way for us to have a good day for we know that God will always be watching us and direct our paths.

@annierose Prayer is very important. God answers our prayers, when we offer them from our heart and in the name of Jesus. God knows our thoughts and deeds and HE is aware of what we need.
Proverbs 15:29 says that "Jehovah God is far away from the wicked ones, but the prayer of the righteous ones, he hears."

I do read the bible sporadically. I know it is best to read it before doing anything else in the morning but I sometimes take it for granted especially if there are many things that I know I need to accomplish that day.

@annierose Sometimes our lives get very busy and we have many things to do. I find that reading the Bible and an article about Jesus just before I go to bed is a good habit. It settles my mind and helps me sleep better. Just 15 minutes can make a BIG difference.

That's good, to have the Bible loaded on your phone. I have it on my IPad.

It varies, but I do try to read at least a bit every day, even if it just a few verses. Matthew 4:4 American Standard Version (ASV) 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

@annierose I had memorized many but at 67 my memory isn't what it used to be but can still remember the gist of many verses and I often look them up and use them in discussions. Do you have any questions that you are curious about and would want to know where the verses are that deal with those questions?

That's a good scripture to keep in mind, Felix. It reminds us that we really NEED God's Word to survive.

That's a good thing. I have a "Daily Text" book that gives me a scripture for every day and it is a great way to start the day.
