My karma came around straight away...

I do believe in what goes around comes around. Many times it means eventually. But I had an experience when it came right away the other day...
I went to get a Subway sandwich plus some fit chips that afternoon and my total was $11.25. I paid with a $10 bill and the rest in coins. Once I got in the car, I checked my coin purse to see what I had left because I was thinking to stop by the grocery store for some bread. I was shocked when I saw my gold $1 coin was still in there. I knew I only had one when I left and I thought I had given it to pay for my sandwich. I had a terrible feeling that I have short-changed the Subway cashier. But it was a miserable rainy and stormy afternoon, I really didn't feel like going out of the car in the rain again to go back inside and gave them the $1. Besides, I didn't think the cashier even realized what had happened... Well, perhaps not until she closed out the till and figured she's a dollar short...
Anyway, I drove off to the grocery store and bought some bread, coffee creamer, and Doritos for snack. My total was $11.45 and I paid with a $20 bill. The cashier took my bill and was counting my change when he realized the lady in front of me left a bag of her grocery. He grabbed the bag and called out to another staff to run after her. He was giving me my receipt and change at the same time. In the confusion of it all, I didn't even think about counting the change before I just threw everything in my grocery bag. Once in the car I opened the bag and realized he had left out a $5 bill from my change. All I got was $3.55 back in coins and a receipt which clearly showed $8.55 change. There you go! I didn't even want to go back inside for my $5 and just accepted that as the basic karma or the law of cause and effect...

You had your share of karma right after you did that .
I really do believe in karma . But in your situation it was a rainy and stormy day and it would really be so much of a bother , not considering that the weather can get worse if you go back there .
Though , if ever i return to that place , i would give the cashier what i owe her and apologize . Surely , she will understand .

Happens to the best of us. It will go around and next time, you'll be in the receiving end of a blessing!

@allen0187 even if they don't come back in my lifetime, they could come back to my children or grandchildren and so on...

Karma sure bit you back but everyone knows you are an honest person and the lesson was learned. So maybe since the lesson was "too" big, you will be receiving some change back from karma . . . there must be some law out there that says things eventually balance out .

Hmmm... planning on shortchanging anyone else soon, sishy? You might not be able to afford it! (grinning at you!)

Instant Karma is Karma's way of telling you it's very displeased with you.

It's kind of iffy if it's karma or coincidence. Usually you reap ten fold. I think it was a day of opps all around but some positive probably came from all of it. The cashier may have extra from those saying keep the pennies and you had Doritos.

Wow! I myself, would have gone back and got the $5 anyway. Then I would have returned to Subway and given back the $1. Using it as a "lesson learned" type of deal, to never do that again.
