This photo was taken in New Jersey at my Niece's place. After our package holiday I spent two weeks with her. That babe in my arms is her daughter. Looking at this photo brings back memories of the wonderful time I had at her's.

It's great how photos can transport us back in time, isn't it? Do you have a lot of family in America?

Yes I have quite a few of my extended family and friends too. This photo took me back to the days I spent with my extended family and friends. After my package holiday, I was picked up from a hotel in San Francisco by a friend. I had to forego a trip to the Alcatraz Island which was a part of the package as my friend said she would take me there I stayed with her for two days and then along with her daughter we visited another friend in San Jose. This friend went with me to my nephew's place in Oxnard. We travelled by train (Amtrak) I had dreamt of this journey a long time ago. It was a ride along the California sea coast. We spent two days at my nephew's and then we returned to San Jose. I stayed with this friend for 7 days. I travelled to Colorado to spend a week with another nephew of mine. I was with them for a week. I then travelled to New Jersey and spent 15 days with this niece whose house you see in the photo. It was indeed a memorable holiday.

@allknowing That sounds like the holiday of a lifetime. I remember you telling me about that train journey (was it on my post about trains?). How long were you away for?

A photograph brings back the memory of a whole period in time and not just the incident at that moment.

You can say that again. I remember the entire holiday at my niece's place. I used to visit a classmate of mine who lived close by. My niece would drop me there and pick me up in the evening. This classmate would then take me out here and there. Great memories.
