A Cull On The Kitchen Cutlery...

wooden thoughts

Living on my own, I don't tend to take much use of my dishwasher unless I have had parties, or friends over or if I have built up so many dirty dishes in one go and then load the dishwasher. I actually like washing dishes by hand but to keep the dishwasher going, once or twice a month my old Bosch dishwasher gets used. I inspected a few wooden implements this morning, one of them dating back to my student days where I had purchased a whole load of wooden spoons, spatulas and various other wooden implements from a thrift store (and well known) in the UK called "Poundstretcher." The wooden spatulas are now beginning to look a little worse for wear, and I'm lucky to find they have lasted for such a long time. I certainly got value out of them. We all worry about trees and forests though - does anyone take the time to think about wooden spatulas and wooden spoons?? Looks like I will have to look for alternatives to save the wood for my food! (c)Nar2/crystalvisions2016

The other one I never see mentioned is how glass pill bottles are only ever half-filled. Why not save some energy and make the bottles fit the amount of pills?

I am constantly culling the kitchen implements and yet they keep filling up the drawers? I don't know if wooden spoons waste any more resources than metal ones.
